Massie Jones is the daughter of a single, struggling mom. This mom went abroad, and Massie was left to her aunt. Her aunt's name wasn't given, and a set of instructions were left with Massie:
1. Pack all of your belongings.
2. On March 13th, your aunt will pick you up.
3. You're to go live with her.
Naturally, as these instructions were left by her mother and so Massie followed them. Her aunt felt like a complete stranger.
The only introduction she'd gotten out of her aunt was this much: her aunt ran a camp for juvenile boys and the aunt's daughter—Noelle—lived there too.
And that was all.
