My first fanfiction, ." A short story, with some SoMa in it ^^, enjoy R&R!
Two o' clock in the morning Soul fell asleep on the couch by accident when he was watching a movie that Black*Star recommended him to watch. Halfway through the movie he fell asleep without knowing on the couch. A little after the movie ended he woke up to a gasping noise. He rose up from the couch instantly, despite his tiredness. He rubbed his eyes and got off the couch. "Maka...?" he called out lowly. He rubbed his head and noticed he fell asleep during the movie. He turned off the TV and walked towards Maka's door. It was slightly ajar so he decided to peek through. In the sight, was Maka, holding the pillow tightly towards her chest, panting furiously. He opened the door and walked quickly towards Maka who was sitting upwards on her bed. "Maka, Maka, are you alright?" He turned on the light. Maka had fresh tears in her eyes, and her face was red. Small streaks of sweat ran down her face, as well as her tears. "Maka, why are you crying?" he asked. She didn't answer him, but instead she hugged him. At first he was surprised by her actions but he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer. "Now can you tell me what happened?" he asked her.
"Nightmare." she said, her voice muffled in his shirt. "You... everyone..." she began.
Soul knew she didn't want to recite her nightmare. "It's alright, it's alright." he told her, hugging her tighter. Maka sobbed in his chest, along with small whimpers. Soul used one of his arms and rubbed her back gently, trying to calm her done. After a few minutes he succeeded, and Maka's crying soon softened. She pulled back from his arms and wiped her wet face.
Maka swallowed hard. "Everyone... they were... they all-"
"It's okay, Maka, you don't have to explain it." Soul said.
Being a stubborn type, she shook her head. "No, I want to, I feel comfortable talking about it with you." Her voice was shaky, and her hands trembled. Seeing this, Soul put his hand on top of her small ones. Maka didn't get why he was being so comforting, and so didn't Soul. She felt a lump in her throat. "Everyone was fighting this... monster. I some how got pinned. Everyone was rushing towards me to help, including you. But then, there was this bright light. I closed my eyes, I heard everyone scream... I opened my eyes... everyone was..." she began crying hard again, harder than before and Soul wrapped his arms around her.
"I told you, you didn't need to explain it." he said.
"No... I feel much better..."
For a minute they were silent. All there was to hear was Maka's low sobbing. Suddenly outside of Maka's window there was a low whistling sound. She jumped up slightly, this didn't go unnoticed so Soul held her tighter. "It's just the wind." he assured her. She nodded and calmed down a little. Soul saw she was still thinking about the nightmare she just had, she was slightly shaking and her hands were trembling. Soul pulled back to look at her face. Her eyes were red with wet tears escaping them. He hated seeing her like this. "Maka..." he began, curling her hair in his fingers (Her hair is down). "It's alright, it was just a dream, it's not real."
Maka shook her head. "No, no, no, what if-"
"No what ifs," he cut her off. "It was a dream, nothing more,"
Maka wiped her eyes. "Are you sure? How do I know you're not lying?" she asked, looking straight into his crimson eyes. Soul grinned and Maka looked at him confused. "Because... I'm your partner, and you can trust me, right?"
Maka smiled. "Right... it's just... a dream."
Soul nodded. "Right, now go back to bed." As Soul got off her bed to go to his own, something grasped his hand. He looked back at Maka, who was blushing madly.
"Soul... do you mind... if you could stay here? Just for tonight..."
