Here's my first one-shot in a while. This is the one that's going to have the winner of the trivia question for the day, Sw33ti3-Pi3, so congrats to her and enjoy the story!

Mitchie paced back and forth between the bench where she was sitting and the sign five feet away from it. She was at Union Station in D.C, waiting for her train to New York to arrive. She had been there for about five minutes, but she was still being impatient. Who could blame her? She was going to see Shane, after all.

A brunette girl that looked a couple of years younger than her was sitting on the bench across from hers, watching her as she paced. "Man, why are you so impatient?" she asked bluntly.

Mitchie looked at this girl curiously. As far as she knew, strangers didn't talk to strangers at a train station. But then again, what were the chances this girl was going to rape her or something?

"Well, I'm visiting my boyfriend in New York, and I'm just really, really excited to see him," she said, and then sat down on the bench where she originally sat. "Hi, I'm Mitchie."

"Hey, my name is Isi," she answered.

Mitchie smiled at her, glad she had someone to talk to. "What takes you to New York, Isi?" she asked.

"I was visiting my aunt here," Isi answered, taking off the earphones she'd been using. "She was having a baby, and my mom said I could help her," Isi frowned as she explained. "It was a bore. All I did was sit around her house or help her husband clean up, and they even sent me home before the baby was born!"

For the next half an hour, the girls entertained each other while they waited for the train to arrive, but Mitchie's impatience got worse and worse the longer they waited there.

"Mitchie, chill!" said Isi, trying to get her newfound friend to relax a bit. For the past ten minutes, she'd been pacing back and forth, non-stop, like she was when they first met.

"I can't! I just wanna see him so badly, and I need to get on that train, and it's still not here, and I wanna see him! Where's the freakin' train?" Isi couldn't help but laugh at Mitchie's outburst, but shut up as soon as Mitchie glared at her, not amused at all.

"It's not funny! Don't you see I'm suffering here?" Mitchie exclaimed, and Isi rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, you're suffering all right. Suffering of dramatic-itis!" Isi said.

Mitchie ignored her comment and sat down, exasperated. She got up again, and checked the sign where the arrivals were announced. "Come on! Where is it?" she said, going back to her bench.

As soon as she sat, Isi muttered an 'uh-oh', looking at the sign. There, in big red letters, it said DELAYED next to their train schedule.

"What?!" shrieked Mitchie. Isi shook her head and opened the book she had in her lap, patiently ignoring the other's complaints.

For the next hour and a half, Mitchie would pace back and forth, sit down, stand up, and pace some more. She was dying to text Shane, but she knew that if she talked to him, she would spill everything, and the visit was supposed to be a surprise.

The entire time, Isi sat quietly reading her book, and occasionally nodded or mhm'ed Mitchie's comments.

When the train arrived, Mitchie jumped up, grabbing all her stuff and running up to the train to board. Isi walked calmly behind her, and as they got on board, Mitchie couldn't help but grin widely and think, "Shane, here I come!"

Sorry it's so short and not romantic at all, but I was all rushed to finish it tonight because if I didn't, I never would. I'm still doing the trivia question thing, but I'm only going to do one once a day, or I get too many fics to write and not enough time. The winner for the next question is Kana's Mirror, and the one after that is pr0udpnaiix33. Please review!
