Hello readers now before I get into this I want to make this very clear I know I'm not suppose to make a challenge as a story so you can get it taken down if you want but I'm gonna post it anyway. Now onto the challenge and my ramblings.
Well I don't know if this forum is still used anymore but I had an idea that I haven't come across for an alternate humanity. Most of the time different humanity fics go with cookie cutter humanities from different most of them from what I have seen happen to be halo and not many truly make a new humanity it's just "ahh we have super weapons." then curb stomp everyone, and while it is fun to read the first few times when they all use the same tech and the like it get boring. The best alternate humanities that were truly different in my opinion was Mythos effect a ME and Cthulhu Mythos and a few others. But I have never seen this before.
Humanity has all become hackers they all work together but everyone and I do mean EVERYONE is constantly hacking each other. Example: a researcher creating something just got hacked and someone got the files for it and said person found a problem in it and fixed it before being hacked back and finding a problem they had was fixed. and it is so normal now that it is just considered part of the daily routine. like think watch dogs when people are on the streets except everyone is a hacker.
But some suggestions/requirements are:
there are no longer countries it is all just earth.
since everyone is a hacker they always have a device on them so ALL decisions like laws and shit are done by electronic vote.
people are required to do some exercise so all of humanity are fat tubs of lard.
for humanity's soldiers think the movie Gamer but instead of prisoners they are controlling robots,tanks,ships,ect.
and finally their first contact has a few options. The first is with either a minor race like Rachni, Krogan, Yahg,ect. The second is Salarians I like the idea of a shadow war instead of a normal full out war for once. Third is an entirely new race that you made up. Fourth a race that was thought to be wiped out OTHER than Protheans. Or finally a race of known creatures that were thought thought to be only animals but have a home world that wasn't discovered by the other races yet an example and the creature I sincerely hope is chosen being the thresher maw. The reason for why said creatures don't show that they can think to other races is up to you
