Author's Note: I'm not associated with Enix or Tri-Ace... no matter how much I wish otherwise. "
For some reason when I began to play the original Star Ocean early last week, I conjured an image in my mind pertaining to a certain scene between two characters in the game. This poem, somehow, is the result of that inspiration.
I do hope you enjoy. As I mention with all my poems, please know I'm not the best at poetry, nor do I claim my rhyme scheme completely accurate. Thank you very much; I look forward to any and all reviews, comments and/or criticism this may receive.
Btw, I'm a Dorn and Milly shipper -- can't stand the thought of Milly and Ratix for some reason (unlike most other fans of the game that I know), which is the main reason I chose to end this poem on such a somber note.

PS: Dorn also happens to be my favorite character from the game, even if he only is a playable character for 20 some odd minutes... XD
Listen, please listen
to my sweet melody.
Sing to the Music
that's been stolen from me.
Fate
has been careless
and Love, so unkind
yet somehow, my
Music
remains Faithful in rhymes.
Its sound flows like
rivers,
my veins, etched in gold -
a tribute to Treason
as
she drowns in my soul.
Siren of Seduction,
the Measure of
my Pain
and through it all, I'm addicted
to her enchanting
refrain.
Yet when my gaze wanders
what do these eyes
see?
My Music, sweet Music
in the arms of a Thief!
Take
it - please, keep it!
Oh! How can this be!
This Maestro, a
Pretender
stole my Music from me!
Yes, she sang him our secret,
this once sweet lullaby,
and now Hope has no meaning
… for my Music has died.
