If Only You Knew

The dense night winds blew heavily upon two shadows, frozen in the misty ally. One glared while the other smiled. The whistling of the winds sounded quietly in the background as the boy broke the silence in the air.

"Haibara you!" Kudou shot out furiously.

"You're too trusting Kudou-kun. All this time, you didn't even know that I was still sending information about you to the organization," Shiho chuckled evilly.

"You bastard, I trusted you!" Kudo exclaimed, outraged at the tiny figure that stood in front of him.

"That was the point. But not that I see you've gotten too close to finding out the truth, you leave me no choice." Shiho chuckled, pulling out her handgun.

"You…" Kudou glared.

"Good bye, Kudou-kun. It's been a pleasure knowing you, and don't worry, your friends won't be forgotten." Said Shiho as she pointed the gun to his head.

"Don't do it Haibara. You still have a choice. You pull that trigger and there's no turning back!" said Kudou trying to persuade her in desperation.

"Don't make me laugh! I can't wait until I see that face on that pathetic little girl friend of yours as she gaze down at your grave." She laughed, keeping her cold glare upon his eyes.

"Don't do this Haibara! You won't live to regret this!" Kudou watched her face as her smile grew. Anger built into his heart.

"Its too late Kudou-kun. Good Bye!" with those final words, she started to pulled the trigger.

Kudou's eyes opened wide as he watched her finger rolling back on the trigger. Time seemed to go in slow motion then. Every single last detail, was as though, being engraved into their minds. Ai's cold smile and Kudou's saddening horrified face came parallel before the sound that ended it all.

-----BANG-----

(One week later)

A teenaged girl stood in front of the gravestone, looking sadly down upon the flowers that she held in her hands. "Why! Why would god be so cruel as to take you at such a young age!" she cried out, "You were always so sure of yourself. I've known you for a long time and yet I still feel like there was a lot to which that I didn't know about. You were always so secretive in nature. You always remained calm in the toughest situations."

Kogoro called from behind, careful with the tone of his voice, "Common Ran, lets go. It's going to rain soon."

Ran turned and walked away.

He was a trust worthy boy. He took her in, he gave her friendship and accepted her into his daily life. He never gave much thought to his suspicions believing that, that was what she was like. It was only a coincident that he stumbled across the loaded gun in her drawers. He was a cautious boy, with one last look upon the grave stone, he gave a sigh of disappointment and left a tiny bottle of red wine he had hid inside his jacket and walked away. The light blocked from the overcast above tinted the wine with a blackened color.

The End

Please don't flame me because I made Haibara act evil. This is my first short fiction so it was interesting. I hope you enjoyed it. I like Haibara so don't get wrong.
