"Get up."
His eyes flickered open at the intrusion, then snapped shut again at the invasion of bright light. Groaning, Jayne Cobb swatted at whoever dared try and wake him, trying to hold onto the last moments of sleep. "Five more minutes, mommy." He grumbled groggily.
"I ain't yer mother, Jayne. And I ain't a gorram fly neither! Now get up!" A sharp jab to the side made the fearsome mercenary's eyes snap open. Groaning, he rolled onto his back, blinking up at the disapproving figure of his Captain.
Mal gave a half smile. "Well, good morning sunshine. Glad to see your awake. Hate to bother you, but there was a bounty hunter on the ship. Reckon we could've used your services as mercenary. Iffin you don't mind, that is."
Jayne frowned in confusion, sitting up slowly. "What?" A bounty hunter? What in the gorram world was goin' on? Had Mal lost his ruttin' mind?
Evidently, he had. Grabbing his mercenary's shoulder, Mal continued, "But hey, don't worry 'bout it. River sorted out the whole thing." With that, Mal turned beginning to leave the very confused mercenary's room. "Thinkin' of givin' her your pay."
The bounty hunter sat in silence for a moment until a thought occurred to him. "Mal! If he's gone what'd you wake me up for?!"
Yeah... I don't really know where this came from. xD But I had been wondering who would get the happy duty of telling Jayne he missed every damn thing...
