I Will Find You

Wanda comes out of the bathing room, after taking maybe a little to long, to find that everyone is gone. And this is no riot at the entrance, this is full on abduction. Now Wanda must steal her humans back one by one... If they're still alive. Inspired by a moment in the book when Wanda thinks everyone in the cave has been taken by seekers. May be rated M later.

Preface

They were gone. It was like before Mel and I had been seperated. I had taken a lot more time than I should have in the bathing room. I felt a mixture of fear and hurt, if they had left, they'd gone without me.

I wiped that thought away at once. Ian wouldn't leave without me. Mel, Jamie and Jared wouldn't either. I knew that too.

I checked everywhere. My brain even tricked me a few times, I'd thought I'd heard Ian or one of the others calling my name.

When I checked the kitchen I got infinaly more worried. Things were scattered like they'd been thrown around in a struggle. Some of the rooms were tossed like there's been a struggle. The hospital wasn't tossed, so either Doc hadn't been here or he'd gone quietly.

They're gone! I moaned internally. And then I got the resolve I'd had before. I didn't have Mel to strangthen it but I had it... I'll hunt them down. I'll hunt them down one by one and take them back.

I felt tears come to my eyes. I tryed to wipe them away but I couldn't. They kept coming or they wouldn't be wiped away.

I half walked half ran to Ian and I's room. It wasn't tossed but things looked out of place. Ian had been waiting for me. I could almost see him threw my tears, laying on the matress reading one of his books. Waiting. I was glad to see that our room hadn't been ransacked. I went over and grabbed one of the duffle bags from the corner. It was the bag I used for the raid. Usually Ian and I put our stuff in there together. Like everything; we shared a bag.

I began to stuff every artical of clothing I could find in the bag. I put Ian's on the right and mine on the left. Then I put some of his favorite books in the middle and zipped it up.

I heaved the bag up and carryed it out past the garden, taking lots of stops, to the place where we would park the cars momentarelly. Thank heavens. I said looking at the foreweeler.

I remember when we'd brought it back. For a raid it was useful. Ian would usually carry our bag and I'd ride the forwheeler to the place where we'd hide the cars. I put the bag on the back and went to get some food.

As I was walking though I decided to go back to the southern tunnel and grab what things I could. I rummaged around and grabbed some of everything Heal, Seal, No Pain, Still, Awake, Clean Inside and Out, Smooth and Cool. I carried them back to my bag.

Then food. I decided to take stuff from the storage area. I grabbed some chips, cheeto's, some granola bars and a couple bags of trail mix. That would be enough till I could go on a raid while I was out.

I put my food in a sack and attached that to the bag on the back. Then with one last look at the caves I put on my goofy helmet and rode out of the caves.
