A/N Another piece of "Little Moments Like That" I wanted to do Danny's bachlor party differently, mostly because I had not specific ideas!
Disclaimer: I own nothing!
Jess was honestly surprised to hear the shower start as she fed Maeli. The little girl giggled as he dad shuffled into the kitchen after his shower. Don took his daughter. Jess fought hard to stifle a laugh as she took in his appearance. He had on a hoodie with the hood up, she assumed to block out what noise he could. His face was pale and his normally brilliant blue eyes were dull. She had to give it to him, he was up, but he looked like he was dying. She knew when he stumbled in last night from Danny's bachelor party, absolutely saturated in alcohol that he'd be hurting this morning.
"Fun night?" She asked with a smug grin. He nodded slowly, quickly regretting the action. His head throbbed angrily. Maeli squealed excitedly for no reason, making her dad wince again. Jess breathed a light laugh.
"So what are the plans for the day?" Don asked trying to pull off a smile. Jess almost felt guilty for what she was about to do, but she couldn't resist having a little fun with him.
"Oh I don't know, I was thinking we could go for a nice long jog, then maybe go through the zoo and this afternoon, I was hoping we could clean the apartment." she rambled. Don nearly recoiled at every one of her statements. All of those things sounded awful to him in his current state. His expression turned to horrified. A whole hearted laugh came from his wife, rattling his aching skull. "Don, I'm kidding. Go back to bed, you look like hell." She prodded, taking Maeli and pushing him back towards the bedroom.
As Don slept, Jess found herself wondering exactly what her husband had gotten himself into last night. She had and idea and grabbed her cell phone.
"Let's find out what Daddy did last night" She cooed to Maeli who was lying in the middle of the living room playing with soft toys. The infant gurgled and giggled. Jess laughed. She typed up at text message and sent it to Mel, Lindsay and Stella.
"Don is really hung over, who else is?" She sent. Two replies came quickly.
"Adam is" Mel's message said.
"Danny is in pretty bad shape too" Lindsay's text read. A few minutes later, Stella replied.
"Mac is fine, but he said everyone else had a lot to drink. Hawkes is at work today. He doesn't look so bad, but he's not one hundred percent." The reply read.
"Anybody have any idea what happened?"Jess's next text read. Mel immediately said no and Lindsay said the only thing Danny had said to her before she left for work was that he needed some Tylenol and she hadn't heard from him since.
"Mac says there was a lot of poker and a lot of alcohol. They partied at Hawkes' apartment; they figured they would get into to much trouble if they went out. From the sounds of it, that was probably a good idea. Hawkes said his apartment is trashed." Stella sent another lengthy reply, clearly being the only one in the know. Jess laughed knowing, her predictions about the party were pretty much correct.
Don appeared in the doorway. He was looking better but he could tell he still didn't feel good.
"So how much money did you lose playing poker?" She asked with a sly grin. He stared at her blankly, obviously trying to remember the night before.
"Oh, uh, none, we played for snack food" He shrugged with a confident smile.
"Snack food?"Jess was slightly confused.
"Yeah, pretzels, Pringles, cheetoes" Don clarified. She nodded in understanding.
"I heard there was a lot of alcohol" She continued. Don tossed himself onto the couch. He dropped his head into his hands.
"There was so much alcohol. I think I had seven beers at least and I know four or so rounds of tequila shots went around." He disclosed.
"God, Don!" Jess gasped.
"Yeah, I know, I haven't drank like that in probably ten years" he sighed.
