A/N I wanted to have a little fun for this one, I hope it works! (I am no poet, so forgive any clumsiness!)

Sanctuary

You were always there in times of strife,

when darkness threatened all our lives,

when hearts were struck with bloody fear,

and evil lurked so very near.

On you I always could rely

to bolster and re-energise.

You were there when I needed rest;

at that you were the very best!

You offered refuge from my woes,

you propped me up when I was low.

Others tried to sit with you.

Those silly fools! And soon they knew.

You never judged, you never left,

but now you're gone, I stand bereft.

I long to lie with you again;

those days are gone, my loyal friend.

No more can I seek your soft touch -

My friend. My battered, leather couch.

...

Where now to rest my weary head?

...the perfect place - in Lisbon's bed!

A/N Let me know what you think! I have another couple of similar ideas buzzing about my head so this become a little poetry mini-series...
