When he came to that clearing, and he saw the white flowers surrounding the tombstone, Jesse's heart all but stopped. He stared at it in a few seconds of disbelief, taking in the scene, praying that the stone didn't not have the name of his beloved etched in it. Slowly, he took hesitant steps closer, his heart sinking with every step. He knelt down in front of the stone when he read the name of the owner. It was her. There was no mistake. She had chosen life. She chose to grow up, and grow old. She chose to not fear death, but to fear the life she had not lived. While he knelt on the ground he could not help but feel a sharp pang as he read the words 'wife' and 'mother'. While he was her first love, he certainly wasn't her last. While he had not moved on, she had. And he was slightly jealous of her for that. But it was a dawn of a new era and he was going to make some choices of his own…
