~PROLOGUE~
-[Muggle London, November 12th ]-
A young boy slowly made his way out of the hospital, and into the gray cold day. The boy looked to be about 14-15 years old. He had on a dark green jumper and black slacks. On top of those clothes was a black coat. He also wore white gloves with a white scarf. His green eyes shined like a beacon with happiness. His black, unruly mop of hair fell just past the nape of his neck. He was only about 5 feet and 4 inches, something which frustrated him to no end. He stood there for a while just looking around himself.
The trees were bare of leaves but covered with snow. The sky was a bright gray, the sun trying to peak out, it was not hot, and the air was cold, clean, and crisp. Snow fell and as the boy stood there he savored the beauty of each individual snowflake. There was a distinct smell of pine, odd as it was, and well..snow, if that made any sense at all. A cold gentle breeze caressed the boy's now flush cheeks, a pound if snow fell to the ground. In the distance the boy could hear the soft tinkles of bells, surely many people were in the Christmas spirit. Bundled up muggles waddling, much like penguins, to their destinations. The boy could see his breath, a white misty thing.
"Harry!" a voice called behind him many people gave furtive glances before moving on. He turned around to see a woman with black hair that held some gray hairs. Her hair was at her lower back and she had tied it up in a high pony tail. Her eyes a hazel color. Her face was slightly wrinkled, a wide smile on her face. She was wearing a dark blue cloak, gaining many looks at her for this.
When she hugged him he whispered in her ear, "Hello mum. How are you?"
"Just fine Harry. How are you?" she asked
"I'm as good as I can get. Where is dad?" Harry asked as he was let go.
"He had to go on to a mission, he wished he could be here but it was urgent." she sighed, as they walked into an alleyway, anti-muggle wards were around there. But they were no muggles. Nope, they were a wizard and witch. A being with magical powers muggles, non-magical people, told stories about. In fact there was a whole secret society of these beings. Though the ones in Europe were a bit backwards.
"How are you feeling about going to school? You'll be with your brother this year!" she asked as they reached a certain part of the alleyway, right next to a dumpster. The whole place stunk wore than a hippogriff's turd. Luckily they would be gone in a moment, Harry's mother offered her arm.
"I am excited to see where I'll be placed. And getting the chance to annoy James will be fun." Harry said as he took her arm. A loud crack resonated though the alleyway and was void.
CHAPTER 1
-[Hogwarts, November 24th ]-
James Potter was bored and when he was bored pranks were sure to follow. All he need to do now was find his friends Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and if he was there Peter Pettigrew. Though he doubted he would find his chubby friend, it seemed he was vanishing. Sometimes James felt that Peter was avoiding the Marauders; they didn't see him very often. Usually only during meals and sometimes before they slept. However it wasn't like they needed him.
James decided to go to the library since he was sure Remus would be there with Sirius bothering him. The Gryffindor was positive that Sirius had a crush on the werewolf and vice versa. He didn't know why they didn't pull their heads out of their arses and just admit they had the hots for each other. Then again, what did his two best friends say about him and Lily? James could admit now that yes, indeed, he had a crush on Lily Evans. It was sad Lily was hiding her feeling for him, he blamed Snape. James walked in and sure enough in the back corner of the library were Remus and Sirius. Remus was trying to read, bloody hell that was a giant book, however keyword; trying. Sirius kept on poking Remus; distracting him from the book. Coming up to them he took a seat across from them, getting both Remus's and Sirius's attention.
"Prongs tell Remus to leave this stuffy library and go outside!" Sirius shouted, only to get shushed and glared at by the Liberian.
"If you are bored you can leave Sirius." Remus sighed, though he did close the book.
"Aww.. But then I have nothing better to do!" Sirius pouted, something that Remus wanted to kiss away. The thought made the kind werewolf blush.
"Well then Padfoot, you can help me plan my prank." James said smirking as he looked at one of his best friends. Before Sirius could answer Remus cut in, "Find something else to do, I know your waiting for your brother but he won't be here in till Monday. Today is Friday; did you start in your essays?"
"But I'm bored and essays are boring, don't you agree James?" Sirius whined,
"Yeah, beside I can't wait in till Harry get here I haven't seen him in 3 months!" James said, the love for his brother obvious. Before either friend could say anything a sickly sweet feminine voice spoke,
"Who haven't you seen? Your boyfriend?"
They turned around and saw Lucius Malfoy standing there, Malfoy was standing elegantly, his blond hair tied back. He had Narcissa Black hanging off his arms sneering at them. Parkinson and Nott were there too along with Severus Snape.
"No he couldn't have a boyfriend, who would want a prank-loving hooligan!" Nott said as he laughed.
"Shut it slimy snakes! James isn't gay!" Sirius yelled
"Are you sure about that?" a cold voice said, it belonged to Snape .
"Just because he can have women and you and your greasy hair can't doesn't mean everyone is gay like you, Snivellus!" Sirius yelled. After that comment Snape's eyes blazed with anger but before more could be said a silky voice spoke.
"As much as we would love to continue this conversation we must go, I do believe Madam Pince is looking quite murderous right now." the voice of Lucius Malfoy spoke and with that they were gone.
"Bloody snakes!" James yelled before Sirius, Remus, and he were thrown out of the library. Though Remus was given the book he had burrowed. James landed on his bum along with Sirius. Remus luckily was able to get his footing.
"This calls for revenge." Sirius said and he dragged his best friends down the corridor.
-[Great Lake, same day]-
Cold, it was freezing out in the outdoors. However it didn't deter the owner of the only blemish on the shining white landscape. Black, greasy looking hair bobbed as the owner walked. A slightly hooked nose and pale skin almost blended into the land, however the onyx eyes deterred that. The owner of such things, Severus Snape, was a tall lad. He stood at about 5 feet 7 inches, a respectable height for a man of 14 years old, almost 15 year old. He seemed to have a classic beauty about him, though most would call him ugly. The fourth year was currently laying in the snow. A look of confusion marred his face, a strange feeling was bubbling in him. It felt almost like anticipation, something he knew all too well. He had felt it every time his father was home. It was like a pile of goo loading in his stomach and a monster trying to claw it's way out. Very strange.
-[2 days later, November 26th , Monday. Great Hall]-
After dinner that evening Dumbledore stood up, his long white beard move and stood out against his…colorful attire. Ash blue with colorful muggle candies were on his roe, something many pure-bloods' sneered at. He held his hands up and the whole hall fell silent. Clearing his voice he spoke with a twinkle in his eye, a damn twinkle many wanted to find out how he managed that.
"This evening a new student will be joining us . For personal reasons he was not able to attend Hogwarts for 4 years. However he had been tested and will still be placed with his fellow 4th years, he will be sorted this evening." Dumbledore paused to let this sink in. Many craned there necks to see if they could find him. Anticipation filled the air. There were many whispers throughout the hall. Suddenly the doors to the great hall opened to reveal a small form with messy black hair and starling green eyes. Dumbledore smile was back 200%
"Please welcome Harry Potter!"
