I meander on the beach and pick up seashells. I love all the colors and shapes. I have as long as I can remember.
As long as I can remember…
I lie back in the sand and look over all my thalassa shells shine in the sunshine. I wonder if there was something else I loved, before I came here. Something pretty and colorful that I always picked up, like my shells.
I can't remember…
I close my eyes and try to imagine it. …Sometimes in my dreams, I'm picking flowers as a little girl… Then, all the flowers fade away into darkness and suddenly… I'm drowning. I guess that makes them nightmares, not dreams.
Is it a memory?
I sit up and smile as Sora struggles to beat Riku in their fight. My friends are always asking where I came from. I wish I could tell them, but I don't know myself. There's nothing I can remember.
But I recall a kind voice telling me some kind of fairy tale…
…For now, it doesn't matter, though. I smile as I run to my two best friends. "Hehe, looks like Sora won this time, Riku!"
Sora smiles goofily and puts his hands behind his head. "Yep! Now the score's 4 to 3 for the day! I'm winning!"
"What? No way. I went easy on him." Riku denies coolly.
"Did not!" Sora protests.
I giggle. I love my friends so much. I can still clearly recall washing up on the island and being taken in by the mayor. Riku and Sora were my first friends here.
I have them now, and I'm happy here. This is my home. I can always come back here, and I'll always be with them. No matter what happens, or who else I meet, the three of us will always be best friends. If nothing else, I'll remember that fact.
And someday… we'll visit the place where I came from. I'm scared, but Sora and Riku will be right there with me... and I kind of want to meet everyone I've forgotten.
I can't wait. Once we set sail, it'll be great.
