A/N: this is my take on the death of colin creevy. Don't forget to leave a review, telling me whether you liked it or didn't like it and letting me know how I can improved my writing for the next time I decide to write one of these.
The first half of the battle was a piece of cake. Yes, the hard part was battling through the reams of students, teachers, parents, death eaters, and bodies, furiously searching for her. From the moment the charms protecting the castle broke, I was no longer worried with fighting. My one and only objective was to find my Luna. And get her as far away from all of this as possible.
"Have you seen Luna?" I called over my shoulder to Padma Patil, who had been nearly inseprable from Luna prior to the Winter Holiday.
"No!" she called back, being pulled in the opposite direction by the crowd, "Have you seen Parvati?" she yelled back, tears streaming down her face. She never left her sister's side. I knew something was wrong, but I couldn't help at this point. I was being pulled in the opposite direction.
"No!" Was all I could get out before she was pulled out of earshot.
Then I saw her. It was just a glimpse, but I knew no one else wore clothing of such hilarity. Relief flashed through my mind for only a fleeting moment, before she disappeared into the crowd once more. I ripped through the castle after her to a place that was nearly vacant. This part of the castle lead to the Astronomy Tower and we both knew it. The only people on this side of the castle were Arthur Weasley, Kingsley Shacklebolt, and Dean Thomas, and chances were, they weren't planning to leave their posts to eavesdrop on us.
As is almost second-nature at this point, we joined hands on the steps up to the tower, "Neville told me he's mad for me," she began, with a hint of an emotion I had never heard her use before. Disgust? Anger?
We stopped mid-step to look at each other and just realize that we were both still alive and still no worse for wear, "Well, I hope he knows you're spoken for." I whispered, running my hands to her waist.
"Trust me," she started once more, subconsciously pressing her body a bit closer to mine, "I made that fact very, very clear." she pushed herself upward onto her toes, pecking my lips gently. Too quickly.
All at once, the walls began to tremble. I didn't realize until it was too late. A huge Quidditch hoop came flying straight by our heads, as our bodies were exposed fully to the cold night air. Luna struggled to pull out her wand, as a frantically half-shoved, half-dragged her down the stairs we had climbed to get her to safety, "Down!" I called, as I shoved her behind a the rubble of what I assumed to be a statue. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught something moving and shot the first spell that came to my mind, "Crucio!" I yelped. A tiny girl fell to the ground shrieking; a first-year, Melanie Moses. I quickly let off.
"Melanie, quickly!" Luna called, holding her arms out for the tiny Hufflepuff, "It's alright!" Luna lied, as spells flew past in every direction. She shielded the smaller girl's body with her own.
A Carrow came flying around the corner, at which point, in a fit of rage, I scream the words that have never passed my lips in my life; the words I hadn't even thought of until that precise moment when everything boiled over, "AVADA KEDAVRA!"
And it rebounded.
A/N: So, let me know what you think. I promise I'm not obsessed with death even though I've done Bill's death, Luna's death, and Lily and James' death. Anyway, leave a comment on this, then go and review my other Harry Potter stories, or my Glee, Rookie Blue, or Nine Live of Chloe King fiction. Or all of it. Whatever tickles your pickle.
