Isn't It Wonderful?

"I can't. I just can't." I sobbed in a low hiccuping voice, warm tears streaming down my face. "I can't go!"
I wanted to go with Tidus to Zanarkand, his homeland that was in ruins, but couldn't. Because of my pilgrimage. My pilgrimage was to destroy Sin and return a Calm to the people of Spira. A Calm is when Sin was dead, for a time and a price: the life of a Summoner. Me. Sin had destroyed people who used the forbidden machina. He killed thousands of people. It was a Summoner's duty to protect people from Sin. I had to.

Wakka, one of my guardians told me Tidus had gotten too close to Sin and thinks he came from Zanarkand. I believed Tidus, but had he really came from a city that was destroyed a thousand years ago? I had known him for a while now. I had first met him in Besaid when I had just become a Summoner, I remember thinking he was so cute with his golden-blond hair and beautiful blue eyes. But most of all I liked his personality. He was cheerful and determined. He always saw the positive side of things. He was regularly there for me, when I was sad, he comforted me. He was the one who cheered me up.

I started to sob uncontrollably, warm salty tears streaming down my cheeks. I tried to laugh a little so Tidus wouldn't get depressed, but all that came out was a hoarse croak. He then gazed at me in a way I've never seen him look at me before. It was a kind glance filled with compassion and, what I like to think, unconditional love. He put his hands on my shaking shoulders.
"Yuna. . ." He said.
I loved his voice. It was gentle and trustworthy. My heart beat faster and faster as he looked at me with his big, sapphire eyes. In those eyes I saw a kind of light that made me feel like I was truly important in his life. He started to come closer. I felt comfortable and safe. I could feel his warmth as he looked even deeper into my eyes and he drew nearer. He cradled me in his arms as if I was a fragile statue, and leaned closer until I could fell his breath on my cheek. He closed his eyes, tilted his head and locked his lips with mine. I was a little shocked. I remember when Seymour kissed me at our little "wedding," but Seymour wasn't as gentle as Tidus. I let one last tear fall, then relaxed in his strong embrace. He tasted like a warm Summer's day. He slowly wrapped his arms around my shoulder, deepening our kiss. Then he held me tighter to him as he pulled us down into the sparkling water. I thought I was in a dream and I expected to wake up. I knew I had to be with him, forever more. We drifted into its the depths, twirling, twirling. When we finally separated, he entwined his rough fingers with my delicate ones, his face inches from mine. I was surprised to find out I wasn't running out of air. I knew this was water, but somehow I could *breathe.* I slipped from his hold and watched him above me, looking down at me with the same loving eyes as before. His shining blond hair floated like a halo around his unbelievable gorgeous face. He smiled. [I wonder how he feels about me?] I thought. He delicately stroked my face and it felt like angel wings on my cheek, brushing the hair out of my eyes. I looked at him and stroked his soft, tanned cheek. I put my arms around his strong neck, and he pulled me back into his arms. To another gentle kiss. We drifted awhile side by side lips in a sweet, loving lock. Oh, how I love him . . .
Tidus. . . . will you always be there for me?
