Okay, so the way i see it is, gwen is evil because of Morgana. GRRR. Merlin has to come and save the day again because he knows something isn't right and Arthur is oblivious to the whole thing. Merlin must become the one thing Morgana is afraid of – Emrys. This is the only way he will be able to get Gwen back to her normal self. He does everything in his power to distract the king while he does so and gets Gaius to cover for him as usual, gaius as always says he's in the tavern.. Arthur gets annoyed and goes to get him, but sees Merlin in the form of Merlin heading towards the forest, so he follows him and is shoced at wat he finds...
Merlin goes behind the tree and drinks the purple coloured liquid that was given to him by Gaius which allowed him to transform into the older man (Morgana's worst nightmare) Arthur sees all of this happening but Merlin doesn'y know that Arthur knows at this moment. Arthur is in so much shock at what he has witnessed he heads back to the Castle and is silent for the duration of the day.
Merlin in the form of Emrys finds Morgana and has a full on magic fight with her, obviously he won as he is stronger than her but only when he is Emrys. He manages to knock Morgana out, which somehow makes Gwen unconcious as Morgana made a bond between them in the Dark Tower. As soon as he realises she wont wake up for a few hours he enchants a spell that will free all sire bonds to everyone she has cast on including the queen (Gwen).
Merlin gets back to the Castle in enough time to think of an excuse on where he has been, but before he gets to his bedroom, he recieves a message off Sir Leon saying "the king wishes to see you now" so he heads towards the chambers, and sees that the king is stood anxiously by the window.. he could tell something was wrong.
"i know your secret Merlin! How could you not tell me!" said the king.
"what secret sire?"
"oh dont play games Merlin you know which secret i'm on about.. well here's a clue, it involves you lying to me for god knows how long, it involves you telling me 'there is no place for magic in Camelot' and all this time you have been using it yourself. Why didn't you tell me!?"
"i'm sorry sire, i just couldnt..i was afraid of how you would react."
"Merlin, we have been friends for a while now, i'd like to think you could trust me, dont worry. I'm not like my father, i will not let you suffer, i realise that not all magic is bad, in some cases it is good. I understand you relieved Gwen from a spell Morgana had pt upon her. Thank you"
Merlin was obviously in shock at what he heard coming from the mouth of a man who had been brought up to believe that all magic was bad and it should be banned for all eternity.
"You will be rewarded, and you will always be my friend, thank you for everything. I do not wish to know how long you have had magic but if ever you wish to tal about it i am here for you. Obviously i am a bit upset you never told me but i understand why. There is no need to be afraid anymore Merlin."
Merlin was in even more shock. He could not believe that the king of all people was offering a helping hand, he couldn't believe he was so understanding. he wishes he had told Arthur sooner rather than letting Arthur find out like this at this time.
Ahhh if only it actually happened like this! It would be amazing! If only Arthur would be this understanding.
