Okay, just so you know...this is really depressing...at least to me, anyway. And it takes place after the movie, so if you haven't seen the movie, I would suggest not reading this.
Disclaimer: I do not own FullMetal AlchemistAlone.
A solitary tear fell down her cheek as she gazed up at the sky.
Last time...last time he came back…he fell from the sky…like an angel…
Her grip on the metal object she was holding tightened. He had bought that wrench for her years ago, on one of her trips to visit him. Since he had left, she always kept it near her, always worked on automail, coming up with new, improved designs he would never get to try.
Never.
Another tear, a companion for the last.
That was the only warning she had before a cry erupted from somewhere deep inside of her. Even her tears had more company than she did. Her grandmother said it was her own fault, for shutting everyone else out after they left…after he left. The old woman didn't understand. No one did…they couldn't. She was the only one he trusted enough to fix his automail right, and…before…he had just started opening up to her some. He was the kind of guy that didn't tell anyone anything…so she knew…she knew…that for him to even confide in her for a second meant something…it had to…and yet…
He hadn't even said goodbye…not really. She would never see him again…his smile…his eyes…They were gone…along with his voice…his laughter…No more braiding his hair…no more…
The tears stopped suddenly and the sounds of crying ceased. Metal hit the floor with a clunk when the wrench slipped out of her hand. She didn't notice. All she could see was how beautifully golden the sunset was today…so…golden…A sad smile graced her features for an instant as she whispered words so soft that no one could possibly hear them, yet so strong that they reached into the dreams of a sleeping boy in another world…and in his sleep…he cried.
"You should have let me wait…Edward…"
"Winry…"
The end…ugh…this is really depressing to me. I don't know why I wrote it. I guess I'm just in a depressed mood today or something. Anyway, this is finished. It was only meant to be one short chapter.
