" That's a fools course"
" Then I am a fool"
" These early years of your life should not be wasted; to travel about with no direction, when you could be learning the finer things of mossad. Knowledge comes harder as you go through the ages Ziva.
" Think what you will"
" You would be abandoning us then? Our family would lose yet another."
" So it would seem"
" Leaving your family in these dire times, well, you better not come back"
" If the price of my pursuit of knowledge comes at the cost of my family, I am prepared to accept these consequences."
Ziva turned away, her gaze still avoiding her fathers. Though her voice wielded a strength of person, her eyes would betray that strength. Tears dropped from her eyes as a firm hand stopped her, desperately clapping to her shoulder.
" Please, my daughter, we truly need you now, your skills help us so, and to lose it...,"
" You would only be losing a fools skills"
The hand shoved Ziva hard, sending the young woman stumbling forward.
" Leave now, then. Your no longer of this family Ziva.... get away." Ziva turned away from her father. She wiped the small tears that escaped from her eyes and went on her way. She knew what she was doing was for the best. It was too late for Ari, he was her fathers puppet through and through. If she was able to get out, it would show Tali she had a chance. Ziva could not bear that fact that her little sister could someday be a trained killer. It would destroy Tali, and Ziva would never wish for her sisters soul, to be tainted. She took a deep breathe and continued on her journey, wishing she could see her one last time, to say goodbye, but she was no longer welcome in her fathers home, and would not get the chance.
Ziva stayed with a friend that night before she embarked on her new life. The possibilities for what she could do with her floated through her head, a small smile crossing her face. She had her small bag packed and was ready to leave when she heard a knock at the door. She went to open and saw her father smiling broadly, Ziva stepped back unsure of what was going to happen. He stood there for a few moments before finally talking.
" Tali is dead, killed early this morning by a bomb." And with that he was off, leaving Ziva to sink slowly to the floor, the tears she always tried to hide flowing freely. She stayed there in that spot for hours it seemed. It was not until she could no longer cry that she stood up. She shut the door in front of her and threw her bag across the room, waiting for the phone call that was bound to come. It was not long before a ringing sounded through the room. She stared at the phone for a minute before going to pick it up.
" We will see you at 0500." Was all the voice said before hanging up. Ziva's head dropped to her knees as the realization slipped in. Her father owned her after all.
