A/N: This is a one-shot break from my fic. I'm apparently in an angsty mood. But here it is. Thanks for reading/reviewing!

Gio could feel every nerve on his body snapping. Heat rushed up his back. He got agitated often. He was surely too opinionated. But he rarely got angry.

Today he was pissed off.

When he had gone to see Betty during a routine sandwich drop-off at Mode, she was forced to tell him that she couldn't see him anymore. He was hurt, angry, and jealous. As he stormed away from her, he pounded the elevator button and waited for the door to open. He was nearly jumping out of his skin by the time that he stepped into it. Staring at the display of buttons, he meant to hit One, but he couldn't stop his hand from hitting the Accounting floor.

He wasn't sure why he was so upset. He was angry at Betty for letting a man tell her what to do. He was disgusted that she was with a man that was so manipulative. He was sick at the thought that he would never see her again.

He stepped off the elevator and headed for Henry's desk. He remembered where it was from the day that Henry bought an Egg Salad sandwich from him. He found Henry sitting at his desk staring at a website about baby ducks and it pissed him off even more. As calmly as he could, he folded his arms and leaned against the cubicle wall. "How's it going, Henry?"

Henry jumped at the sound from behind him. He spun in his chair, his back perfectly straight. "Gio?"

He gave him a cocky smile. "You don't look that happy to see me, Grubstick."

Cautiously, Henry asked, "What happened to 'Egg Salad'?"

Gio's smile faded. "I promised Betty that I'd stop calling you that."

Henry tensed. "Oh."

Gio cocked an eyebrow. "You're a lucky man, Henry. You know a lot of people that keep promises."

Henry readjusted his glasses. "So you know."

Gio curtly said, "Yeah." His cocky smile resurfaced as he pushed his shoulders back. "I don't get it, man. How does a guy like you get a girl like Betty to do whatever you want?"

Henry gritted his teeth. "Maybe she's just smart enough to stay away from a guy like you."

Gio was losing his composure. "I guess you're smart enough to realize she better stay away from me if you want to keep her."

Henry stood up, towering over Gio. "What is that supposed to mean?"

Gio's eyes glinted. "You're the brainy accountant. What do you think it means?"

Henry's eyes glared at him coldly. "Betty's in love with me. She thinks you're just an annoyance."

Hot anger boiled over. Quietly but still dangerously, he nearly growled, "You're an ass to Betty."

Henry matched Gio's anger. The tone of his voice lilted to a near screech as he said, "You want Betty's ass!"

Gio smiled mirthlessly. "You're smarter than what I thought you were. You want to know something else about me?"

"Amaze me, Sandwich Boy."

Gio stared him in the eye. "I'm a patient man. And I've only got three months to wait." He grinned at him again, completely confident and assured. He turned and walked away.

Henry was left at his cubicle watching his competition leave. Now he was the one consumed by fear and anger.

Kenny's head popped up from his cubicle. "Dude, he just flayed you, yo."

Henry sat down in his chair, exhausted and worried. "Thanks, Kenny," he mumbled.

The end…
