Sonic and Knuckles are seen in a abandoned mall in the food court, but run away when Amy and Tikal arrived.
Reznov prepares a DP-28 machine gun then take position behind the counter. Tikal notices this and pushes herself and Amy to cover as Reznov fired.
Amy remembers that she borrowed Julie-Su's double-barreled, multi-purpose plasma gun then returned fire at Reznov.
Amy: Tikal, go get Sonic and Knuckles, I'll hold him.
Tikal: But Amy...
Amy: Go!
Tikal runs to where Sonic and Knuckles had ran to. Reznov gets out of his position and runs to the parking lot where he stalled a car for Sonic and Knuckles.
Amy follows Tikal after noticing Reznov leaving his position.
Sonic and Knuckles keep running and running for the parking lot. but they decide to splitting up to both directions to the parking lot. Sonic takes left to the grocery section and Knuckles takes right in the shopping section as both run for the parking lot.
Tikal: Amy, they're splitting up!
Amy: Go right, Knuckles is going there. I'll go left to Sonic.
Sonic tries to hide from Amy as possible, but fails when Amy tracks him, leaving Sonic to ride in a shopping cart, to the stairway. Next Sonic bails out of the cart then runs to the stairs leading to the stairway, only to reach Reznov's car parked 5 yards in front of him.
Knuckles' time to get out was hard when Tikal calls out his name while running around to find her crush, but he runs as fast as possible, but fails when Tikal gives chase.
Knuckles tries as fast but ends up accidentally riding a skateboard to the parking lot. Then he bumps to the stairway that Sonic went through. Then again runs to Reznov's car despite being confused.
Reznov drives as far as he can but while driving, Amy shoots behind the car until the car is far away from her, leaving her behind but Tikal catches up to her.
Amy: Come on, we gotta catch up to them.
Tikal notices a motorcycle and Amy rides on her back when Tikal starts the bike and run after Reznov.
At Reznov's underground home...
Sonic: Thanks for the help but we can take home by ourselves. See you.
Sonic drives away out of nowhere.
The next day...
Sonic then departs to the airport with Knuckles. They check their bags but none of them notice a mysterious figure putting drugs in their baggages while they eat their breakfast.
When they stop at the detectors, they end up being arrested and taken for interrogation when the security found drugs in the bags of both Sonic and Knuckles.
The officers interrogating Sonic and Knuckles reveal to be Amy and Tikal, whom they thought to escape from them.
Amy: So you thought you got away from us eh?
Sonic: But, how did-
Tikal: We disguise ourselves as security to get to you. Gotcha!
Knuckles: But who placed drugs in our bags?
Rouge: I did. ( coming out of the shadows )
Knuckles: What the h*** Rouge?
Rouge: Don't blame it on me. They just paid me this! ( reveals to have a green Chaos Emerald ) Have a nice day. ( walks away from the interrogation )
Amy: OK, now where were we? Right. Come here! ( runs to Sonic )
Sonic fails to leave when he finds out that he's been handcuffed in the hands and legs. Amy then hugs him tightly, even Sonic was unable to escape due being handcuffed.
Knuckles was mostly harder than Sonic, he was also handcuffed as well in the hands and legs. Tikal kisses him all over his face, this was hard for Knuckles to breathe when Tikal kisses him in the mouth.
A few seconds later...
They end up on a plane away from Knothole and to New Mobotropolis.
