CHAPTER ONEBack down in Boston there were a group of 50 people alive and in very much shock, but there were two soldiers by the code names of Echo and Delta. They were American Special Forces soldiers and were tasked with the protection of Vault 143. They were equipped with bright orange Hazmat suits and Military-grade gas masks. The shelter was in need of food and purified water.
"Sir," One woman said, "You have to go outside and find my son, Trevor." Delta loaded his G36c and patted the woman on the back.
"Don't worry, I'll find him." He said reassuringly. He entered the access code for the Vault door behind him. The door blared with warning sirens as it began to open.
"Everyone go into the room behind that door," Delta pointed at the door next to Echo. "I'm going outside, if you need anything tell me now!" He yelled. Most of the people filed into the room next to Echo, but a few people stayed.
"Um, Mr. Government man? Can you find my kitty? He was with us when we were outside." Delta promised he would find her cat and told her to follow Echo.
"What's your name?" Echo asked the girl. "I'm Alex, but my friends call me Echo."
"My name's Lisa, my parents should be in the room with everyone else."
Echo led the girl to her parents, then he joined Delta. As the door finally opened, they were greeted by a blast of heat. The nuclear rockets had ignited the city on fire, looters ran around the city destroying homes and pillaging the city. One man threw a firebomb at the soldiers and was torn apart by radioactive dogs. Delta put in a new filter on his mask and began to look for the warehouses that their orders said to look for in case of an emergency.
"Damn, this place is a hell-hole now. I remember when I was a kid, I used to play near that old school. Now it's all burned to the ground.
