"Care to take a stab at anyone else?" Major Lorne asks her.

Sam thinks about it. She thought about asking for him, but a little voice in the back of her head was screaming at her not to. This was an alternate reality that she knew nothing about. The little voice of caution that strangely enough sounded a lot like her former CO chides her for giving them a list of people she would go to for help if indeed she needed help. That voice tells her to keep making that mental list, but to shut up about it for now. She doesn't need to give them any more intel about herself. So she doesn't ask for him or Janet or Davis. She adds Special Agent Barrett and Generals Landry and Hammond to her mental list as she waits in the interrogation room.

When they finally release her from "protective custody" they give her not just the keys to the dead Major Carter's house and car but her life as well. Sam feels a little ill about sleeping in the dead woman's house so she sleeps on the couch. The next morning she decides she needs to get over it and searches the woman's house for clues to this reality. She wears the dead woman's clothes only long enough to go out shopping for new clothes and uses the shopping trip to lose the tail assigned to her.

Three hour later she's sitting at the back of a small internet cafe hacking her way into the SGC's computers having spent the last two hours scanning the internet for information on the state of affairs in this reality. It takes her only thirty minutes to find the back door through the SGC's firewall that this reality's Major Carter had created. It wasn't that different from the one she had created in her own reality. Sam knows she needs help, and she already knows she can't trust Landry and Hammond. As soon as Major Lorne had mentioned barely getting the chair out of Antarctica before the Russians got there she knew what this Jack O'Neill's fate had been. There hadn't been room to transport the chair and the stasis device so they'd left him.Whether he was dead or a captive of the Russians still trapped in his frozen coffin the reports didn't say. Sam could only hope he was dead. A footnote at the bottom noted that Teal'c had left after the SGC had abandoned O'Neill in Antarctica.
