"Be quiet and fix your halo. It's lopsided."
"You know, Jubilee, if I'd gotten one more set, you would be in the tea-pot outfit singing about how large your figure is."
"Well, rich boy, it just so happens that I won that game of tennis, so you have to follow the agreement."
"I still say you cheated."

There was a moment of silence.
"So what does Remy have to be?"
"Mercury."
"Mercury? As in winged sandals? The cap with wings on it? The whole short white robe deal?"
"Yup. Kitty's helping him, and enjoying it thoroughly. Rogue has Logan, and Bobby told me he could do his costume by himself."
"I still can't believe you got them all to let you pick out their costumes."
"It was easy. I beat Remy at cards, won that bet with Logan, and Bobby..."
There was a pause. "Bobby?"
"Well, Bobby actually liked my suggestion of costume so I didn't have to resort to extortion in his case."
"Oh. Jubes?"
"Hmm?"
"What was the bet you had with Logan?"
Snicker.
"He told me I couldn't go for more than twenty-four hours without my candy. Heh."
There was a shock-ridden silence.
"You went without candy for a WHOLE DAY??!!"
"Yup. I suffered some serious withdrawal symptoms, but I lasted 27 hours, 17 minutes, and 34 seconds. I don't think I've ever seen anyone so shocked as Hank was when I told him."
A giggle.
"Hold still, Warren, I have to put the makeup on!"
"Do you have to?"
"Yes, Warren, I have to! Cupid has to look perfect!"
"But-"
"No buts."

"Warren!"
Moan.

Remy, aka Gambit, was Mercury.
Logan, aka Wolverine, was a court jester.
