Summary: Vala asks Daniel what would happen if they weren't stuck on the Odyssey.
Note: A very short Unending one-shot that had been sitting on my hard drive nearly finished for quite a while.
Disclaimer: You all know the characters aren't mine.
Stuck with Me
"What would happen?" Vala asked suddenly. Daniel looked up at her. She was sitting on the end of their bed, folding shirts. It was such an oddly domestic chore for her to be doing that it took him a moment to remember what she had said. He shook his head, not understanding her question.
"What do you mean?"
"If Sam suddenly figured out how to get us off this ship and we went back to Earth. What would happen?"
"We'd go back to fighting the Ori."
"You know what I'm asking," she said quietly. He nodded and stood, coming to kneel in front of her and taking her hands.
"We said from the beginning – circumstances may have, hastened our relationship, but it would have happened," he touched her cheek to turn her face to his. "We would have happened, sooner or later." He shook his head. "There's no going back for us." He smiled wryly. "You're stuck with me." Vala couldn't help the smile that appeared.
"Isn't that supposed to be my line?"
"Stuck with each other, then," he amended before kissing her.
"Mm, there are worse fates," she quipped.
"Yeah, and between the two of us I think we've experienced most of them." She chuckled and kissed him again. He brought her wrist to his mouth, kissing it lightly. "So don't go getting any ideas about kor mak bracelets or something similar. No alien technology will be necessary to guarantee I stay by your side. That's a promise."
"I believe you," she said quietly, seriously. She laid her head in the crook of his neck as his arms went around her. "And there's no one I'd rather be stuck with but you."

Note: And with that, I finally reach 10 stories – yay for double digits! (It only took about 5 years.)
