A Poem For You, Gatomon
V-mon jumped onto a tree stump and tapped his blue tail on the wood. Gatomon glanced up from adjusting her gloves. They traveled to the Digital World with Daisuke, Hikari, and Miyako. But they seemingly got lost when they were caught in a herd of tiny little digimon.
"What is it, V-mon?" Gatomon asked, wondering why he was tapping his tail in a steady beat.
"I want to dance." He said and added, "But I can't. I mean… I don't want to."
"Did you see Hikari dance? Isn't she the most graceful person ever?" Gatomon sighed dreamily.
V-mon sat down on the stump. "Hey, Gatomon?"
"What?"
"Can I recite a poem for you?" V-mon tilted his head towards the ground.
Gatomon smiled and blushed faintly. "Sure! I never knew you were a poet."
V-mon mumbled under his breath, "Neither did I."
"What?"
"Nothing. Let me start already." V-mon cleared his throat and raised his paw up in the air. "This is my poem to Gatomon. Ahem…
'I am not a dancer,
No, I am not.
But I'd like to take the time,
And tell you what I thought:
When I saw you dancing freely,
With a smile on your face,
I attempted to learn the 'groovy moves'
And set my dancing pace.
To tell you the truth,
I ripped up the floor!
And when I danced faster,
I could bounce off the door!
No, I am sorry.
That didn't happen-I lied.
When I first tried to dance,
I practically died.
But keep in mind,
I tried my best,
And I was willing to laugh
Along with the rest.
I wished for the perfect chance,
To find the way to say,
That I definitely love you,
In every one of your ways.
You're sweet and funny,
And cute and kind.
And you're the perfect angel,
Inside of my mind.
So Gatomon, please,
Take the time.
To figure out what I'm saying…
I want you to be mine.' "
V-mon waited for a reply. "I'm sorry, um, um, Gatomon?" He waited and looked up. "Gatomon?" He turned to the left. "Ga-to-mon!" Then he turned to the right. "Kitty cat!" And then he looked straight. "Here kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty!"
"V-mon! Come on! I found Daisuke and Hikari and Miyako! They're over here." Gatomon pranced up to the stump and tugged on the blue digimon's tail.
"Ouch, ouch! Hey!" V-mon whined and pouted throughout the whole time Gatomon dragged him back to the group. When they stopped, V-mon asked, "Did you hear my poem at all?"
Gatomon snickered playfully and spun around her friend. "It was a wonderful poem. And I like you too."
V-mon stood speechlessly.
"What's the matter?" Gatomon sneaked around in a hunting position. "Cat's got your tongue?" Gatomon giggled and pounced on the miniature dinosaur digimon.
"Hey! Let's go already!" Daisuke hollered at them, unaware of what was going on.
"Coming." Gatomon purred and dashed away.
V-mon sat up. "Gee, if I knew she likes to play hard to get…" He remembered what he and Daisuke talked about. How Hikari paid attention to Takeru more than Daisuke. And how Gatomon got a long with Patamon more than she did with V-mon.
"Humph," V-mon started to walk away. "Like digi-trainer like digimon."
Bwahaha! Every author can have an obstacle in writing. Obviously I can't write digimon loving digimon stories… ^-^; Anyway, I just tried this out because I've never done something like this. Not really. But okay. Again, this for Toki-chan's challenge. Feel free to laugh at this. ^-^;;;; ~HT
