His tried to take shallow breaths, even when he felt like gasping in pain. He knew Sam was being as gentle as he could taping his ribs, but each breath burned like fire.
"Sorry," Sam's voice was soft, trying to stay calm.
"N-not your fault you've got such gigantic hands…" he ground out between clenched teeth. "This feels weird."
"You feel like something might be broken? I knew we should've…"
"You p-patching me up. Should be the other way around."
"Dean, just this once, please shut up and let me care for you."
Dean smirked. "Only 'cause you said 'please'."
