Tales of Symphonia 2: Dawn of the New World
Summary: "Ratatosk, what were you before you were me?"
A/N: Finished this one before Lavender, but I liked Lavender more then I did this one, so Lavender went up first. I'm really disappointed in this one, in all honesty. But I still decided to post it up.
Disclaimer: I don't own ToS2, if I did, you'd know because it would contain a bunch of RatatoskXEmil hints and goodness.

Giving Up
"Absence diminishes small loves and increases great ones, as the wind blows out the candle and blows up the bonfire."
"Hey, Ratatosk?"
"What?"
"Umm… What were you before you were… well… me?"
"H-huh?"
"What were you before you took on Aster's form?"
"You're kidding." Ratatosk stared, taken aback at Emil's question. The other blonde nodded his confirmation that, sadly enough, he we wanted to know. The Spirit groaned his dismay, "Must I tell you?"
Ratatosk frowned as Emil smiled, "Please?"
The Summon Spirit growled, "You're lucky you're cute."
Emil blushed, before a smile broke out across his girlish face, "So you'll tell me?"
The red-eyed male sighed, "If I have to."
Emil sat down beside the already seated Ratatosk, attentive to the information he was about to be told.
"I…"
…
"Was a squirrel."
"A squirrel!?"
A frown decorated the Summon Spirit's face, "Shut up. Being a squirrel made my life easier. Atleast when I was the Summon Spirit of the Giant Kharlan Tree."
"You guarded the Ginnungagap as a squirrel?"
Ratatosk growled, "Yea what of it?"
"Well… It's just… Squirrels are so…"
"Point?! I was a damn strong squirrel!"
Emil giggled, much to the confusion of the Summon Spirit. The elder of two furrowed his brows, making Emil laugh loudly.
"What's so funny?"
"O-oh, nothing!"
Ratatosk growled after a moment of silence passed of them, "Stupid ass white world." Emil blinked. Now he was confused, "I wish this place had some walls."
Emil tilted his head to the side, "Why?"
An evil smirk crossed Ratatosk's lips, "Oh, no reason, my little Emil."
"You always said you wished you could find the person who loves you, then I walk by and you don't even notice I'm the one who does."
A/N:: I hope you all got that hint at the end about what Ratatosk is thinking. You just know Ratatosk is constantly thinking of ravishing Emil. Please don't kill me for writing this. I'm addicted. And when I'm addicted, I write. Thanks for reading, guys, whether you liked it or not!
