It wasn't supposed to be like this. We were supposed to be with each other forever. I wish I could spend just five more minutes with my family, my friends-everyone who I loved. But I knew that could never happen. I was nearing the end of my life, and there was absolutely nothing I could do.
I heard the front door open. And now, it was time. I had to make my decision. Who would I pick- the man who I have loved since school? Or my son- my little boy, who I've loved ever since I saw his small, cute face?
'LILY!' I heard a young man scream. I don't think I've ever heard my husband sound so terrified-that in itself scared me. I knew what the next words I word hear were going to be, but I begged, pleaded with my mind, that he wouldn't...
Avada Kedavra!
James.
I knew that I was next. I walked over to my son's room, closed the door, and attempted to barricade us both in. I suppose I knew, deep inside, that this wouldn't stop him from him from finding me- but I had to try. I looked over at my sweet, little boy. And then I knew what I had to do.
I never truly understood why He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named wanted my son so badly. I still didn't, but I knew what I had to do. I realised-
"I'm not supposed to survive"
The door opened.
Lily Potter looked deeply into her son's emerald green eyes- identical to her own- smiled sweetly to him, before beginning her journey on Death's path.
"You can't have him"
"Well, who will stop me? You husband? Ha!"
"I will"
"Oh Really? Well, we'll see about that then shall we?"
There was a second of silence. Lily knew that would be her last.
Avada Kedavra!
A blast of green light blasted quickly over at Lily-swallowing the entire room in the the emerald blast. Her scream could be heard from miles around-and every man, woman and child who heard it-wizard or not, became filled with tears.
Lily Potter's life had just ended. And it ended for the sake of her husband-that she would now meet again, her family, her friends- all those that had suffered from the hands of the Murdering Wizard. But most importantly, she had died for her little boy, whom she loved him with all her heart. She did it for Harry James Potter. The Boy Who Lived. He had her eyes, and that's how she would forever live on.
The door closed.
