"Wow," I said as I stepped out of the trees, and into the golden meadow I had been to so few times before.
The meadow had golden grass, and scattered wild flowers. A few meters away, I saw a fallen tree-- roots and all. I heard light, graceful footsteps behind me, seconds later I saw sparkles of light coming from Edwards icy pale skin.
"Do you still like it?" He asked. He stood next to me-- his arm around my waist.
"It's as beautiful as ever," I told him. Spring, I guess, could do that kind of thing to a already-beautiful place.
"Good, because if you stay with me, Bella," He began to run his fingers through my mahogany hair. "it will belong to us, and us only," I could only stare at him. I looked at his messy bronze-brown hair, his golden eyes, his slightly boyish features.
"Really?" I asked when I was able to talk. "would you really do that for us? Make the meadow official ours?" Edward smiled my favorite crooked smile. He took my hands in both of his.
"No, my sweet Bella," His beautiful eyes bore into me." Because it is already done. You don't need to stay with me for it to be ours. You are the only human who knows it exists.
"You know about it because I showed you. I showed you because you are like a heartbeat to me-- you stop beating and…. I die. Only in this case, I love you more than a lifeline,"
Edward began to walk toward the fallen tree, pulling me slowly with him. I fallowed. He fumbled in his pocket for a second, then we sat on the tree. A warm wind made my hair fall to my face, he pushed it aside and turned toward me. He took my hands in his.
"Isebella Marie Swan," He began. I took a deep breathe." I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I promise to keep you safe and happy. Will you marry me?" I stared at him in awe. I didn't know what too say. I could have said anything. Was really marry him? If I did, he would turn me into a vampire him self. I could be with him forever.
"Yes," I whispered. Edward opened his hand to reveal a dimond ring. He slipped the ring onto my finger, and kissed my hand. I leaned toward him, freed my hands and hugged him.
He pulled away from our embrase, only to change it slightly. His lips crushed mine. He was a bit rougher in this kiss than usual. I got dissy faster than I usually did. Probably because I was still in shock by his proposal.
"I love you." he told me minutes later when he let me breathe. I rested my forehead on his, my breathe riged.
"I love you, too." I told him. "More than you know."
"I can't tell you if your right, you know." I smiled. "What are you thinking about?" he asked a few moments later.
"I'm thinking, " I told him. "about our future. How great it's going to be," I hear Edward chuckle.
"I was thinking the same thing. Funny how our great minds think alike." I could hear the smile in his voice. Before I could say anything more, he was kissing me again.
I realized something during that kiss. I was happy. I had been thinking, for a while now, that I wouldn't want to marry Edward, that I would have to give up too much, but I was wrong. This would be great.
