Dance with Me

AN: So this is my first Lucas/Gina fanfiction by request. It's set in 2x20 Tripping Up. Hope you enjoy.

Gina's POV

I can't say I'm enjoying this school dance very much. It's too crowded, too noisy and worst of all, Lucas isn't even here. At least, he wasn't until I heard the honk of a car horn. I run outside, just in time to see Lucas step out of Mr Tripp's car. He looks so handsome in that tuxedo. Not that he doesn't always look handsome, of course.

I walk up to them, smiling, "Hey, guys!" I say excitedly.

"Do we know you?" Lucas asks, looking at me in evident confusion. He doesn't recognise me!

"It's me. Gina!" I say, silently laughing at their dumbstruck expressions.

Lucas' POV

Whoa! That's Gina? She looks... different. She looks pretty- no, beautiful. Wait, since when have I thought Gina was beautiful? Still, I wonder if I can dance with her?

As we enter the school hall, Nick is immediately surrounded by a load of girls. Jessica sighs and heads toward the buffet table, Toby following closely. I laugh loudly.

" What's the joke?" I turn and see that the owner of the voice is none other than Gina. In answer, I point at Jessica and Toby.

"They're so obvious," I explain, "They try to hide it but it's just becoming more obvious every day."

Gina laughs, her laughter ringing like bells. I then notice that Gina looks bored so I quickly decide to fix that. "Um, would you like to dance with me?" I ask nervously. I can't understand why I'm so nervous around her all of a sudden.

She nods and with that confirmation, I took her hand and led her out onto the dance floor. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Toby running up to the DJ and whispering something in his ear. The DJ nods, and starts fiddling with the records. I put my arm around Gina's waist, ignoring the loud wolf-whistle (probably Toby). Just then, the music change to a slow, romantic song. I glare in Toby's direction, before starting to lead Gina in a slow waltz.

The song is actually quite nice. However it's not nearly as nice as having Gina in my arms. She leans her head against me as we continue to sway in time to the music. Neither of us seem to care that the whole year is there watching; we're just living in the moment.

In no time at all, the song ends and I reluctantly let go of Gina's hand. However she takes it again and moves towards the door, which I have no choice but to do so as well.

Gina's POV

I take a deep breath. Okay, you can do it, Gina! Just tell him how you feel; it'll be fine. Oh, why am I so nervous? Who knew being in love was this hard?

I sigh, "Lucas, I-" However, before I can finish my sentence, he leans down and kisses me on the lips.

"I love you, Gina." He says, smiling that heartwarmingly adorable smile at me. "I'm sorry it took me so long to realize. Please forgive me."

"Lucas, you don't need to apologise." I say, smiling. "I love you too."

Just then, we both hear the sound of clapping. We turn around and see everyone in the hall clapping, Nick, Jessica and Toby clapping the loudest and cheering too.

Years later

Normal POV

Tori, Anna and Louise were listening to Lucas recount how he and Gina became a couple.

"So you see, Tori, if your dad hadn't asked the DJ to change the song, then your Auntie Gina and I wouldn't be together now."

All three of them smile as Gina walks in.

"Mummy, Daddy was telling us about when you got together." Louise says happily.

Gina smiles. "That's nice, dear. Why don't you three run along now?"

As they run off, I gently kiss Gina.

"I will always love you, Gina."

"I will always love you, Lucas."
