author's note: lack of capitalization purposeful. the title means, in latin, "to have, to possess."

you belong to me. it's never spoken and always understood.

(it begins when gellert pushes you forcefully against the shed behind your family's house, roughly shoving his hand up your shirt. you stare at him all wide eyes, at his blurred face and your heart stops, somehow. maybe it's because you've never tasted something like this before.)

god, you groan, but you aren't really sure. maybe you were trying to say gellert, but most likely your brain just split in two and you're saying anything that wins the battle between the hemispheres.

(and then gellert is pushing you everywhere forcefully and sometimes painfully, and maybe this is what you've been missing out on all your life. somehow you think this is a part of gellert's plan to take over the world, to take over you first, but it can't be. it simply cannot be.)

maybe it's not so muddled-up though, because despite the affair and the plans of world domination you still have days of cool summer breezes over melted forms, and it feels normal again, like the days before mum or dad or aberforth broke like antique vases.

(in reality none of them were ever broken. it was ariana who broke first, and you could feel aberforth cracking underneath dry winter skin and almost hear the sobs of mother beyond.)

you belong to me.

when you defeat him you say it, because when you defeat him you own him. first you tell him it wasn't love, that he and you never should have said love, that what you had with your family was love, or at least for a while. and then he looks at you strange because you're ranting about broken vases and lights and it's all muddled-up. he kisses you again this time, but sadly like on a train about to leave (you've seen it before), and it is the last time.

(you fuck him, then, because it is right and that is what is expected. of whom you aren't sure.)

but obviously, obviously though the papers read dumbledore defeats grindelwald you know somehow he still owns you, because without him you wouldn't be here.
