AN: #13 in The Great One-Shot Expulsion...I'm trying to make these at least a little interesting. I decided I didn't really feel like posting them all in one story. So here they are, one-shots that just keep appearing in your email, one at a time...Yup. :P

Disclaimer: I do not own the television show Scrubs. I do own the characters of the television show Scrubs.

I Find it Kind of Funny:

It happened in the park. He doesn't quite remember who, but he knows it hurt like hell.

There were more than one, he's sure. He could have taken down one fucking punk if he had to. But it was too damn dark to get any physical descriptions of them. Stupid park needed more lighting.

Maybe he had just looked like a walking money machine. The white doctor's coat would have been a big tip off. Why, oh why, had he decided to take a smoke break in that damn park? It was all Newbie's fault. If he didn't make him so flustered all the time...make him think about his dark tufts of hair, messy and tangled when he just wakes up, soft before he takes a shower...

Damn that kid! Even as Perry weaves down the deserted sidewalk, vision blurring, he can't help but think of JD. The way his eyes always light up when the older man walks into the room and offers him a hidden smile before completely ripping him a new one. Or the way that when things get really bad, no matter what, JD is there offering his assistance and support and every annoying little cliché that he can possibly give.

Because he's JD. And it's in the kid's nature to want to help, whether he thinks he can do any good or not.

So when Perry ends up on JD's apartment-step, leaning heavily against the door frame, and JD opens the door and looks confused and scared and pulls him inside, the older man knows he's safe.

Because JD is JD. And he can't imagine being anyplace else.
