Chapter 1.

It was the first day of school. Kindergarten was a big step for a boy. At least that's what he was told. His mom told him that he could carry his power rangers backpack to school.
"Hey little guy I need you to be the man of the house."Darren said. Finn looked up at the man proudly. He wasn't a baby anymore. He was going to school.
"I'll try but men are big like you."Finn said. He took his little hand and put it in Darren's.
"Whatever kid, let's wait for your mom to take you. I have some yard work to do."Darren mumbled.
Finn sat down and waited for his mom. He should of known that Darren wouldn't take him to school. He didn't do much but sing and talk his mom. Sometimes they played video games. Once Darren let him go on a tractor with him and his mom almost had a heart attack.
Darren was the closest father that Finn had. Carole always told him not to say that. Finn felt like he needed a dad. Everyone needed a dad. So why couldn't he pretend?
Carole yelled coming down the stairs.
"Finnegan Hudson you better be ready."Carole said.
Finn stood up and ran to his mom.
"Mamma I'm ready let's go."Finn said.
Carole bent down to kiss his cheek before they left.

Finn stood in front of the school with Carole. The school was bigger than him. Carole took his hand.
"It'll be okay Finn."Carole said.
Finn watched as everyone went into the classroom. They were all his age. He took a deep breath.
"Okay mommy, I'm going in."Finn said. He talked as if it were a superhero mission. Carole laughed and walked him in the classroom. She gave Finn a kiss goodbye and left.
"Mommy's boy." A boy laughed.
Finn looked at the boy next to him. He had a weird haircut. Who only has hair down the middle of his head?
"Half your hair is missing."Finn said.
Two boys snorted at Finn's comment. Finn looked at them. One of the boys had glasses and was wearing grandpa shirts. The other one boy kept putting hairspray in his hair.
"My name is Kurt Elizabeth Hummel, please call me." Kurt said.
"My name is Artie."Artie said. He kept touching his glasses.
Finn looked at the boy with the weird haircut again.
"My name is Finn Hudson."Finn said.
"Is that a nickname? My name is Puck, don't listen to my mom."Puck said.
"Why'd you call me a mommy's boy?"Finn asked.
"Because your mom kissed you."Puck laughed.
"She's the only person I gots."Finn said. He shrugged his shoulders.
"You don't gots a dad?" Puck asked.
"I have a Darren but I can't call him daddy."Finn said.
"I'm sorry I made funs of you. My daddy is never home and when he is he gets sick from juice."Puck said. He held out his hand to give Finn some Sour Patch Kids.
"Those are my favorites."Finn grinned.
"My dad gives them to me when he gets sick from juice. You can have them."Puck said.
Finn started to eat his candy. He shared some with Kurt and Artie. The teacher came over with a little girl.
"Eww it's Rachel Berry from Hebrew School."Puck said.
"I'll have you know Noah that Hebrew School gives you a better chance at understanding our culture." Rachel said.
"Noah Puckerman I warned you to be nice to your friends and I meant it."The teacher said harshly.
Finn looked at the little girl next to him. She smiled so he smiled back. He liked the way she smelled like bananas.
"My name is Finn Hudson."Finn said.
Rachel Berry looked up from her seat. She pulled out a gold star and put it on Finn.
"My name is Rachel Berry."Rachel said.
"You and old stars."Artie said.
"Rachel I told you gold stars were in pre-school not kindergarten."Kurt huffed.
Finn watched as his new friends bickered. Maybe school wasn't so bad.
