Chapter One: The New Recruit
Weeks later, after the deaths of their two closets friends and Allies Schere and Bulat. After being gone for only two days, Najenda called everyone into the meeting hall.
"Why did boss call us for?" Tatsumi asked.
He looked towards Akame for the answer, but she only shook her head. Najenda walked into the room along with a teenage boy with black wavy hair, crimson eyes and wearing a white dress shirt, black pants, shoes and jacket. Attached to his side was a katana.
"This is a new recruit. A friend of mine from the Revolutionary Army recommended him." Najenda announced as she pointed at him.
The teen looked around the room and started scanning through the room, he smirked to himself.
"Hello, my name is Hiei." Hiei announced with a straight face. "That's all."
"Great another weirdo." Tatsumi thought with a nervous smirk. The teen walked passed Tatsumi and looked at him with a smirk.
"It's not very nice to call a guy you'd just met a weirdo." Hiei whispered, with a smirk on his face.
Tatsumi looked at him with shocked expression, and started shaking nervously. "D-Did, he just read my mind?" Tatsumi asked himself.
"Hey, is that a Teigu?" Mine asked. She pointed at the dark blue katana, with a golden rectangular tsuba and a tag attached to the hilt.
"Yes, it is." Najenda answered, with a smirk on her face.
The Moon Fang, Getsuga. One of the 24 Teigu which were lost during the last Civil War. Formed from the material of a highly dangerous Ultra-Class known as a 'Tsukiyomi'.
A very dangerous beast who hunted down many people and soldiers. With abilities rivaling the Tyrant. Its fangs and claws, which were known to tear through the land and scar the very earth.
Were made into the katanas blade, giving it near invincible defensive and offensive capabilities. Its holds other abilities that still aren't known.
"That look on his face, it's just like Akame's when I first met her." Tatsumi stated to himself. He remembered the cold yet saddened look in her eyes.
Couple minutes during dinnertime, everyone were mortified by what they saw. Hiei was keeping up with Akame when it came to eating cooked meat.
"Done." Akame/Hiei called out, as they wiped their mouths with a cloth.
"Are you two even human?!" Mine asked, as he pointed at them.
"I've never seen anyone match Akame." Leone added, with a smirk on her face.
Hiei started stretching his arms and left out of the room yawning.
"Boss, where exactly did the Revolutionary Army find this guy?" Lubbock asked, looking towards Najenda.
"He's a lot similar to Esdeath, when Hiei was born he lived in the Northern Region. He lived at Tsuki no Village, a clan of people who hunted Danger Beast for food, survival and sport. They were all known to hold festivals under the glow of the moon." Najenda answered.
"I heard of that festival the Tsuki Dancing Festival." Mine added, with a smile. "I heard their dances were was a wonderful sight."
"But that's where Getsuga was also held. Prime Minister Onest ordered the soldiers to kill everyone there and retrieve it. Hiei witness something that now child should ever experience at that age. He went on a rampage and slaughtered every soldier there." Najenda explained.
"He killed every last one of them alone, but that's impossible even with a Teigu." Leone stated, with a surprised expression.
"That's the thing in recent battle against the Empire's Soldiers, they've noticed he has enhanced speed, strength, senses and regenerative abilities. The more the noticed these occurrences the more they started to fear him." Najenda answered. "Hiei stated it was something inherited from his mother, who's similar to Tsukiyomi."
Everyone in the room was stunned by Najenda's explanation.
"But, if they feared him so much. Then why did they allow him into the Revolutionary Army?" Tatsumi asked. Najenda blew out smoke from a cigarette.
"It's the same as every one of you. Skills, Talent, and most importantly…ambition." Najenda answered. "He was too much of an asset to let go."
Akame turned around and noticed the direction Hiei was going. Outside he was standing in front of four graves.
"They're really strange, I don't think I've never met anyone quite like them. Well, I was only around a group of stern looking men." Hiei stated, with a smile. "Schere, everyone cares for you more than I realized. Bulat, you were respected by everyone for more than just your abilities. Sayo and Leyasu, don't worry about your village and Tatsumi."
He held Getsuga in his hand and looked up. "I'm not letting anyone's sacrifice be in vain." Hiei smirked and started focusing his hearing.
[How does he know Aniki, Schere, Sayo and Leyasu?!] Tatsumi whispered loudly. Coming from behind him was Lubbock, Leone and Mine.
[Shhh, you idiot! We don't want him to hear us!] Mine responded, as she glared at him.
Both of them started bickering to themselves, until Leone covered their mouths.
[Shhh, I think Akame's going to talk to him.] Leone said. Everyone looked and saw Akame walking towards him with a plate in her hand.
Hiei turned around and saw her sitting down next to him, he smiled and looked back at the graves.
"Do you know them?" Akame asked.
She offered Hiei food, and he took it gracefully.
"Akame, do you believe that a person's eyes are a window to their soul? That everything about a person can be revealed through them." Hiei asked. Akame nodded her head, curious by Hiei's questions.
"I can see everything through a person's eyes. Their past, their present and their true feeling towards others." Hiei explained, his ability. "I got that ability from my mom, really I think that's why no one in my village ever looked me in the eye."
Akame was lost for words, she could only look into Hiei's crimson eyes.
"But, even without making eye contact. We were still a family. We fought together, we laughed and we celebrated together." Hiei stated, with a smile. "That's why, when the empire took them all away from me. I decided that day, I would carry their deaths with me until the empire fell."
"I see." Akame responded, with an endearing smile. "So, what did you see when you looked into my eyes?"
Hiei could only smile and blush slightly, after looking into her eyes.
"Both you and your sister were sold to Empire by your parents and worked as assassins. Your greatest fear was seeing your comrades die in front of you. But, you continued moving forward so you could see your sister again." Hiei answered. "After realizing the darkness within the empire you defected to Night Raid to end it."
Akame was amazed by Hiei intuition of her past, but she was still confused. "But, that's not…" Akame stated, but was stopped as Hiei placed his finger over her lips causing her to blush.
"You guys really suck at hiding!" Hiei called out.
The four of them were shocked and started running away.
"I don't have the right to talk about your objective." Hiei removed his finger and smiled at her. "But is it really okay to torture yourself like that?"
Akame knew too well what he was referring to, she only nodded in agreement.
"That's something else we have in common, right?" Akame asked.
"You're one amazing girl Akame." Hiei stated, with a sincere smile.
As Akame was standing up he placed his hand on hers, causing her to blush again.
"In my village we have a traditions, once we make a promise under the moonlight. We'll fulfill that promise no matter what." Hiei responded, with a smirk on his face.
Akame smiled brightly, with a pink hue brimming from her cheeks. Akame walked away maintaining the smile on her face. Hiei looked towards the moon, his eyes started glowing red and turned slightly slitted.
"I can sense their evil from here, the three of the empire's strongest soldiers. The 2nd Strongest, the Earth Dragon…I'll kill him no matter what." Hiei thought, with a determined look.
