The Genins Last Mission

I suggest you not to read this and politely ask you to leave for your own safety. This story takes place right before Sasuke leaves the hidden leaf. With that I hope you enjoy and are as happy with this as I am!

"Ya I know but what about Sakura!" screamed Naruto

"Just because she's sick doesn't mean we can't go on a mission." Said Kakashi in his normal level headed voice.

"But what about the fact that we need four for a squad!"

"The Hokage says she needs to rest sooo, He's letting us go on a three man mission just this once."

"Fine whatever!"

Naruto stormed off in the opposite direction. Kakashi had already told both of the remaining team members what type of mission this was and when they were going. Sasuke just stopped and walked off but Naruto just had to keep up the argument.

By the time Kakashi arrived Naruto had fallen asleep at the gate. Sasuke woke him up with a kick to the shin that was more forceful than necessary.

"Ouch, that hurt! Oh Kakashi sensei. It took you long enough."

"Ya sorry about that"

"Well then let's head out! You ready Sasuke. Cause I'm totally gonna catch this guy before you!"

"Whatever it's not like this is a challenge. It's just some stupid haunted house, right Kakashi?"

"WHAT! Kakashi sensei you never said anything about it being haunted!"

"Oh did I forget to mention that? Anyway it's not just some haunted house Sasuke. This castle is rumored to be alive and dangerous. The child that died in it had been known for his traps and pranks around the village. For this mission we will have to be extremely careful and perceptive. We will take two days to get there and rest for a day while gathering intel. Then that night we will strike and take down the castle. Our main objective is to find the scroll that had been taken a few years back. So, Naruto don't go overboard and destroy it before we can get the scroll."

"What, why did you specify that at me!?"

"Because, you normally go overboard and start destroying things right off the bat. For this mission use your head."

"Well why didn't you yell at Sasuke huh!?"

"First off I didn't yell and Sasuke normally keeps a cool head and finishes the job quickly."

"Well… whatever let's just go."

Naruto started walking down the path and Kakashi followed while Sasuke lagged to the back. He was always so quiet and deep in thought. He never really wanted to go on any of these stupid missions; but they would make him smarter and stronger so he would use every mission he got to train.

"Yo, Sasuke, why are you always slacking in the back pick up the pace!"

"Why don't you just shut up."

"Stop it you two."

"What? We didn't do anything. Jeeze Kakashi Sensei you're so harsh."

Naruto whipped his head back around to the front and sped up just enough to force Kakashi and Sasuke to move faster. No one said anything till Kakashi stopped.

"Ok guys we will be setting up camp here for the night. I'll be taking first watch so Naruto go find some fire wood and Sasuke pitch the tents."

"Why do I have to go get wood this is so stupid send Sasuke or something."

"Naruto go get the wood now and Sasuke pitch the tents."

"Fine!"

Naruto huffed off to get fire wood and stomped his way through the forest toward some old trees about five minutes away. As Sasuke started pitching the tents Kakashi turned to him.

"So what's bugging you Sasuke?"

"Nothing just leave me alone."

"Well you certainly have an attitude problem that's for sure."

Sasuke had no reply for him he simply dropped the tents with a clatter and walked away.

"Where are you going?"

"Why should you care?"

And with that Sasuke took off into the darkness. A few miles away he couldn't stand it anymore his anger coursed through his veins bringing a boiling hatred to his chest. He couldn't stand Naruto and his always happy attitude. How on earth could he be even close to Sasukes strength but he was. Naruto was getting stronger every minute and it was suffocating to even stand next to him. That just pushed Sasuke over the edge. Even the thought of Naruto fueled Sasukes flames hatred. He punched a tree hard to the point his knuckles bled but he didn't care he wished it was Narutos blood that covered his fist. He wanted to pulverize Naruto to the point that every bone in his body was shattered to pieces. He punched again wood splintering around his fist as he felt the joy of pain rushing through him. With two more punched the tree fell to the ground. Bloodied wood chips were everywhere but Sasukes hatred remained and boiled hotter with every passing second. He moved deeper into the forest punching trees as he went leaving huge holes stained with blood.

Meanwhile Naruto was scouting the woods for some sticks but to be honest he wasn't really looking. He couldn't stop thinking about how angry Sasuke seemed when he had told Naruto to shut up. He felt bad for Sasuke that he had to go through so much pain. Naruto had decided at that very moment he would not let Sasuke hurt alone he would try his best to cheer him up and share his pain. Naruto walked along with a smile for he though his plan was fool proof. Then he heard something strange it was the sound of a tree hitting the ground. He ran in the direction of the sound and to his surprise found the site of Sasukes wrath. Blood, wood chips, broken branches, and a fallen tree. Acting on instinct he backed away for the attacker of the tree could still be around. He decided to retreat to Kakashi Sensei and Sasuke then they could check it out together or even better Kakashi would go alone and Naruto could talk to Sasuke or at least that's what Naruto thought.

"What do you mean Sasukes not here!" Naruto screamed.

"He walked off in that direction."

Kakashi gestured toward the direction Naruto had come from. Was it possible that Sasuke was responsible for the destruction? Naruto made a snap decision.

"Ok well I'll be back Kakashi I'm gonna finish collecting fire wood but before I go here."

Naruto handed Kakashi a sleeping poisoned food pill it wouldn't kill him just knock him out for a long time.

"Sakura gave me these and she told me to give one to you and Sasuke but I guess I forgot haha."

"Well thanks Naruto."

Kakashi turned around and took a bite so Naruto couldn't see under his mask.

"Wow that tastes terrible but don't tell Sakura she wo…"

Kakashi fell backwards and Naruto pushed him under a bush to keep him hidden. It wasn't the best way for Kakashi to stay hidden but Naruto was ready to go after Sasuke and couldn't bother with that. Naruto ran straight for the destroyed clearing to inspect where Sasuke might have gone. When he arrive he realized there was more carnage leading into the thickest part of forest. Naruto had already made up his mind and started to follow the traces of destruction.

At this point Sasukes rage had no limit he would destroy anyone and anything that was put within five feet of him. And as suddenly as his rage had grown the curse mark had started to weave through the seal that Kakashi had put on it. He had reached the end of the forest and he looked back at his path of destruction. As he lay eyes upon the carnage the curse mark broke through the seal and fed Sasukes hatred even more. It made him wand to rip off all of Narutos limbs and squash every dream he had them stab him right through the skull. The thought of killing him brought shivers of excitement down Sasukes spine. The curse mark spread slowly across half of his face and he tingled with excitement. How many people can I kill in a minute? How long will it take to crush someone's skull with my bare hands? Who will I kill first?

Naruto reached the edge of the forest to the point he could see dim light coming from outside the trees. It must have clouded over because it was darker than expected.

Sasuke could hear footsteps and thoughts bombarded his head would it be right to kill them fast or slow? Could I kill them with one hand? One thought after the other and it just pushed him further toward insanity. The curse mark spread over the rest of his body and he was now covered in black flames. The excitement was killing him he had to kill someone right now or he wouldn't be able to stop himself from rampaging but would that really be a bad thing? With that final thought a figure emerged from within the trees and Sasuke couldn't help but give a wickedly pleasured smile.

Naruto emerged from within the trees to see he was in a rocky clearing with a waterfall pouring between two statues also known as the final valley. However right in front of him was a smiling Uchiha. At first Naruto was confused then he saw the curse mark spread all over Sasukes body and he was trembling with nervousness or maybe pain? No, it was excitement and anticipation. But why? Naruto had never seen Sasuke like this it was frightening. It made Naruto want to back into a corner and stay there till Sasuke left. It made Naruto nauseous just looking at the marks all over his body but when he gazed upon Sasukes face he could almost feel the hatred and insanity invading his own mind.

Sasuke stared for a minute at the figure then placed it to be Naruto the one he was itching to kill all this time. The site of Naruto standing there dumbfounded made Sasuke give an insanity corrupted laugh as the curse mark solidified into a grey shade of hate and spread across the entirety of his body. Naruto seemed shocked repulsed and frightened all at the same time and that only made him laugh harder making him sound even more insane.

Right in front of Narutos eyes Sasuke was morphing into a physical form of hatred. His normally pale skin turned grey and a black cross formed on his nose and spread to his forehead and cheeks. Naruto could only stare dumbfounded as Sasuke laughed. His hair lengthened and took a purplish shade of grey. And his Sharingan eyes pierced through Narutos mind like double edged swords.

Sasuke stopped laughing and his wicked smile turned into a disappointed frown.

"I thought you would be stronger then to be struck dumb by a little change in appearance" said Sasuke his words forming icicles in Narutos chest.

"Don't worry about me I'm perfectly fine. What about you? You don't seem too sane at the moment." Naruto said keeping his cool.

"I feel new like I have been reincarnated and given the power of hundreds of men."

Sasuke held up his hand and stared at them.

"I bet I could kill you right now."

With that Sasuke propelled himself forward and kicked Naruto right in the chest.

"Oof."

Naruto was flung backwards with the wind totally knocked out of him. Barely managing to keep his balance he wheezed and sucked in as much air as he could before coughing up blood from the power of the impact.

"WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?" Naruto screamed.

"I said I was going to kill you."

Sasuke glared at Naruto with hatred and disgust.

"Well why then!?"

"Because I can."

"Is that really your reason? TO KILL!"

"One must always test their own strength."

With that Sasuke flashed out of view and reappeared right in front of Naruto less than a foot away. He swung his fist and caught Narutos face sending him flying into a tree. The impact was a loud thunk and he rubbed his cheek. Naruto sucked in one last breath then launched himself at Sasuke using the tree for support.

"IF IT'S A FIGHT YOU WANT THEN YOU GOT IT!"
