Yet Another Christmas Alone
A Kakasaku romance, and may I warn you, there is fluff.
I don't own any of the naruto characters, although I wish I did!
Kakashi lay there, staring at the clock.
'She's only 10 minutes late. No big deal.' he thought to himself. He could remember countless times when he had made her wait, for two hours or even longer.
The snow was falling fast now, and he was beginning to worry. He tried to calm himself down by reading some Make Out Paradise, but it didn't help.
She was 30 minutes late now, and he turned on the TV.
"We interrupt the scheduled program to bring you this weather update: There is a severe snowstorm warning for all of Konoha. Everyone stay indoors, even ninja!" the newslady said. He clicked the TV off and sighed.
"Oh....she won't be coming then. Well, guess I'll be spending yet another Christmas alone."
Usually the famed Copy-nin didn't didn't feel lonely. But today......was different. It was Christmas Eve. He couldn't shake the pain in his chest. He longed to say "Merry Christmas!" to someone, anyone really, it didn't even have to be Sakura. He sat down and stared at the small, fake Christmas tree she had bought him, along with some ornaments she didn't want.
He chuckled when he thought about the way she persisted that he got a tree.
It was about 4 hours until midnight now, almost Christmas. He took out some old, leftover vegetable ramen from his small fridge.
"What a way to spend Christmas." he said out loud.
The ramen was eaten cold, and didn't taste very good. When he was done, he put the bowl in the sink and took a shower. When he got out, Pakkun was staring at him.
"Hm? Will you be keeping me company?" Kakashi grinned. At least he had his lovable pug to spend the lonely nights with.
"Uh......well, you see......some of the other nin-dogs invited me to a little party, sooo....." the animal looked up at him, feeling slightly guilty.
"Oh, well, have fun!" he said as he smiled a little. But Pakkun could tell it was a fake smile. He considered staying with Kakashi, but nevertheless, he left, and once again Kakashi was in solitude.
The silver-haired man took his vest and headband off as he crawled into his hard bed. He lay there in the darkness, his eyes wide open, unable to sleep. How long had he been like this before he met her? Spending every Christmas Eve alone? She was his hope in his world of darkness and despair. And without her, he was simply a deppressed old guy whose friends all died.
At this thought, he sat up in bed and put his vest and headband back on. He was going to see her even if it meant treading through a snowstorm. His scarf was wrapped aroung his neck in a sloopy manner as he looked at the clock.
'12:00. It's officially Christmas.' he thought as he set out to see his love. He opened the door to leave when he saw her, out of breath, her teeth chattering, and her skin as pale as the snow itself.
"Merry Christmas!" she said, grinning as hard as she could. He just smiled and embraced her.
"Merry Christmas Sakura."
And he knew he wasn't alone anymore. And he never would be.
The End! Please Review! ^^ Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone!
