A/N: Iv'e wrote this story this summer and i was planning to publish this on Mother's Day. But considering this is Sunday and my mom's birthday, i've decided to do this as a birthday present to my mom. one more thing, you decide who's the father. i won't judge.
Disclaimer: I don't own avatar: the last airbender or its characters. asides from this story and ame, i own nothing.
Outside in front of a wooden house, sat Katara watching her little one, Ame playing in the rain. Like mother, like daughter, Ame loved being one with her element.
The small girl gleefully twirled and danced as drips of water continued to soak her. Katara lovingly watched as she was being entertained by Ame's joyful spirit. Ame was her entire world.
As Ame stuck her tongue out to taste the rain, she was disturbed by loud crash of a noise. Her eyes drew open as lightning flashed before her eyes, followed by another clap of thunder. Frightened by both the sight and noise, Ame dashed to the house crying "Mommy!" Ame ran into the arms of her mother, where she felt warm and safe. Katara didn't mind at that she got wet from Ame, as long as she held her daughter. Ame tried to be brave as she tried to look up to the sky. Then suddenly, another attack from lightning and thunder scared her. Ame started to cry, clinging onto her mother for comfort. In between sobs, she managed to mutter "I'm scared mommy." This made Katara hold her child tighter.
"It's alright little one, mommy's hereā¦"
Always.
