First off, no this isn't coming back...It's just someone got back to me with the proposed "Rewrite the first chapter" thingy. I'm still focused on Mobain Rangers, BTW reason that's taking a while is cause i was on vacation throughout late June to early August...Sorry i didn't tell you all.
Anyways 100% Credit to "Fall To Darkness" for writing this one, go check his stuff out. If he can write like this then his two other stories must be just as good...Speaking of which I'm gonna check one of those out sooner or later i think
Hey there everyone. My name is Eric Jackson and this is the story of how I met an interesting new friend.
I was walking down the street late on a Saturday afternoon, heading to my friend Chris' house. I headed through the front gates and up to his door when I froze. I looked up and noticed the sky was getting dark as lightning flashed and thunder boomed. Huh. Looks like the weatherman was wrong. Again.
I rang the doorbell and was instantly greeted by a smiling blob of happiness; aka Chris.
"Eric! I'm so glad you could come! Let's head inside before it gets really bad, oh! And we can play a game!" Chris told me eagerly as he grabbed my hand and led me down the hall.
We stopped in front of a white door and Chris pulled it open. He began to look through his closet looking for a board game, mumbling incoherently to himself. I sat down on the floor and waited for Chris to return. Seconds later, he came back with a pack of Uno! cards. I stared at the cards as he dealt them out.
"Ah, Uno!, the game that ends friendship and begins feuds," I said sarcastically.
"Just couldn't help yourself, could you?" Chris looked at me, exasperated. "Just play your cards,"
Many infuriatingly stupid rounds of Uno! later, we stopped playing and looked out the window. The sky had long since turned black with the night, no stars visible through the clouds. The lightning had stopped flashing, but thunder still boomed and rain bombarded the rooftop in a torrential downpour.
"Looks like I'll be staying the night, huh Chris," I informed him, looking at the sky. "I'll call my mom to let her know,"
"Cool. Well you know where the guest room is," Chris yawned. "Well, g'night!,"
"G'night, Chris," I waved as I walked out of his room and down the hall.
I stopped at a light yellow door, pulled it open and sat on the bed. I whipped my phone out of my pocket and dialed my mother's phone number. As the 'BRR BRR' of my phone played, I looked out the window. Looks like the storm isn't letting up anytime soon. Just great I thought to myself as my mother's voice rang out.
"Eric? Honey? Are you alright?," She asked, hurriedly.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Hey look, I'm calling to let you know that I'm gonna have to spend the night at Chris' place. Is that OK?," I sighed. Such a worrywart, my mother was.
"Oh! Well, that's fine, dear. Just make sure you call me if anything happens, okay?"
"Alright. Talk to you later. Bye,"
"Bye."
I ended the call, laid the phone on the nightstand, and got into my pajamas. Just as I was beginning to nod off, I hear a loud splash. Probably just my imagination, I thought, as I curled up into the sheets for a good night's rest. Or, at least it would have been if Chris hadn't run into the room and shook me senseless
"I'm up, I'm up. What d'ya want?" I slurred, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
"C'mon! Follow me and be very quiet!" Chris whispered as he pulled me out of bed. So much for a good night's sleep.
Chris and I tiptoed out of my room and down the hall. It truly was a miracle that we didn't wake anyone up with all of the creaking the stairs did. We slowly undid the latch on the sliding glass door and ran outside. We shivered from how cold it was. Nature: 1; Weatherman: 0.
We looked all around the yard searching for what could have made such a big splash. We peeked inside shrubs, behind trees, and over the fence when my sleep-deprived brain finally put two and two together. Water splashes, not leaves. I facepalmed and waved to get Chris' attention.
"What? Did you find it- well, whatever 'it' is?" Chris asked excitedly, bouncing up and down.
I deadpanned. "Dude, water splashes. So, let's check the pool."
We ran over to the pool, and sure enough, there was a dark blue- something in the water. I gave Chris a questioning look, and before I could open my mouth to speak, Chris had jumped into the water to save whatever unfortunate thing had fallen in. Five seconds passed before he resurfaced, holding a limp blue form in his arms. I took the blue object from Chris and helped him out of the pool and set the blue creature down beside him.
"That was kinda stupid to jump in there in your pj's. You could've gotten waterlogged," I pointed out, worried about my friend.
Chris was about to send me a smart remark, (Believe me, I can read him that well) but was cut off by harsh coughing and ragged breathing. Alarmed looks spread to our faces as we watched the poor animal try to catch his breath.
"T-thanks for savin' me. I owe ya one."
Since Chris was slack-jawed from the knowledge of an animal talking, I popped the question.
"So, uh, do you have a name?" I rubbed the back of my neck, feeling a bit awkward.
"Yeah I got a name. I'm Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog."
