It always amazed me, how dark Harry looked and how light Draco looked. Harry, with his dark hair and green eyes, had the appearance of the perfect Slytherin. Draco was so light it seemed like he could fade away, all colour washed away until he became nothing more of a memory. Grey eyes, pale skin and white-blonde hair… so pale, he was like an angel.
Yet, he was never an angel. A fallen angel, maybe… yes, that would suit him. But, in some ways, it just wasn't enough to describe him. He was very independent, very arrogant and very introverted.
Appearances are always deceiving. Yet, sometimes, you can spend six years with someone and not know their personality, either. Harry? He was always obvious, all of his emotions are there for everyone to see. But Draco, he was far different. He was so secretive, layer upon layer. He was a challenge, mentally.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not like Hermione. I didn't like him because he was like a piece of schoolwork.
I tried to puzzle him out… and I couldn't stop thinking about him. He was so hard to work out. And then it turned to infatuation and lust. And then, love?
I don't know. He was exciting, passionate, unlike the boring comfort of Harry. And yet, there was no feeling of safety and protection. I don't know what we had, just that it was strong, exciting and meant a lot to me.
Even now, when I think of him, I feel a pang in my heart. He's dead now, and I miss him. His atrocities were inhumane, cruel and sadistic. Yet, the fallen angel always held something for me that Harry never did.
Or maybe, he just knew me better. Just knew what I wanted, lusted, more than Harry could ever hope to.
AN: It's probably fair to tell you that this isn't my usual writing style. So if you think this is good, I'm sorry but I probably won't produce much more like this.
If you think it's terrible, then I'm very sorry. But it was interesting to dabble, and there's no better way of telling if it's good/bad than by posting it.
