Last month I found a little black notebook

With the power to kill

Last month I wrote a name down in it

And found out it was the real deal

Last week I met a guy at my campus

And he said that he was L

And I don't even know his real name

This really is one complex game

We started out acting like we were best friends

But we're both really plotting the other's end

But I don't even know his real name

We started working together

On the Kira case

Trying to get my stupid girlfriend

A chance to see his face

I had no clue what I was getting into

But I still have what it takes

But there's no room to make mistakes

What it really is
