Kurt had always loved Blaine, ever since they met in that sandbox at the park. The sparkle in his hazel eyes was beautiful. Kurt was so happy when he could finally tell Blaine this and he would respond with the same. He loved me! Me! So what that people might say they overuse the phrase but they didn't care. It made them feel that all was right in the world, even though it wasn't. Not anywhere close.
"I love you, Blaine."
"I will love you forever, Mr. Hummel."
"Forever?"
"Yes, forever."
"Well Blaine, w-what happens when forever ends?"
"We'll worry about that when we get there, Kurty." Blaine said, brushing a loose strand of Kurt's hair back into the styled perfection.
"We're there Kurt." Blaine whimpered as tears streaked his face.
"What are you talking about Blaine?"
"When forever ends. We're here."
"Don't talk like that Blaine! It's not ending!"
"I can feel it Kurt. Now just let me say this," Blaine said as Kurt tried to interrupt him. "It's my time to go Kurty. I just wanted to tell you that forever has been beautiful with you. I wouldn't change anything about our lives together. It is time for me to go, but I'm just going to go home, Kurt. And when you are ready to come home too I'll be waiting for you okay?"
"I love you Blaine. I'll always love you."
"I know Kurt. I'll always love you. I always have."
As Kurt watched Blaine's life drift away, he brushed a stray gray curl back up to his still crazy mop of hair. Kurt would always love Blaine, he knew he'd never see the sparkle in his eyes again but he also knew he'd never forget their life together. He already missed Blaine.
