Ron moved sideways so that he had Harry pinned against the wall. He pushed their bodies togeth, sending sparks down each others spines. Harry brought his already raw lips to Ron's deep red ones.

Harry pulled away from this bliss when he heard the door open.

There in the doorway stood a stunned Arthur Weasley. Quickly Ron jumped out of Harry's grasp.

"Dad," Ron started but Arthur was already down the stairs of the Burrow. Ron ran out of the room, looking back at Harry momentaril. Harry gave him a nod and Ron mumbled a thanks, continuing his journey after his dad.

Ron shook his head once he got into the kitchen of the Burrow. His mother was seated at the table with an empty pie crust in front of her. She was covered in flour from head to toe except for two tear streaks down her face. Seated next to her was Ginny. She was just like the empty pie crust in front of Molly, an empty shell waiting for some one to come along and fill her up again.

Ron sighed and walked over to his mother and sister, "Hey, mom. What's going on?"

"Nothing," Molly says quickly drying her tears.

"Just making a pie," Molly says smiling up at Ron. But she is not smiling, at least not with her eyes, not with emotion.

"Mom," Ron says putting his arm around her shoulder, "It's okay."

Just as Ron was going to ask where his father went Molly opens her mouth, "He is outside."

Ron nods and forges on, walking out the door.

Walking down a beaten path through the woods behind the Burrow Ron comes to a clearing to find Arthur fiddling with his hands.

"Dad," Ron says catiously.

"What was that up there?! Huh?! What about Hermione?! What about your mother? She can't lose another son?!"

"Dad," Ron says sitting on a rock paralell to the bench Arthur is seated on, "You haven't lost a son, you have just gained another."

"I don't need another son!! I just..." Arthur's voice faded and he looked out in space.

"Dad, I know, I was there," Ron says, "The war has taken a toll on everyone."

"Ron, I have been through this twice," Arthur says sadly, looking at the ground, "I feel like I will have to fight a war for you and Harry."

"I can handle this, Dad," Ron says sighing, "It's my life."

"I am aware of that, Ron," Arthur says, "But is it so wrong to worry about your son when you have just lost one?"

For a while Arthur and Ron sat in silence, neither look at another.

Then Ron spoke, "Realizing how fragile life is made me strong enough to love."
