Hello, this is the author speaking. So, to take care of a few formalities.
This author doesn't own any characters from Harry Potter, J K Rowling does. Any people or places you recognise from that book are therefor borrowed and doesn't result in any financial gain on my part. The owner, J K Rowling doesn't gain anything from this either unless you decide to buy her book after reading this. (however unlikely that might be) Further more, I the author of this fic am proud to present:
Blue Green.
Harry was slowly dragging his feet towards number four privet drive Surrey. His thoughts swirled and zig-zaged through his head like crazy fireflies on bright summer nights. This was not a bright summer night though. Sure it was summer, but the rain was threatening to break out at any moment and the air was strangely cold. At that thought Harry's head swung up and he looked around wildly. Seeing no traces of dementors he relaxed slightly. It was only a few meters left to the door when he noticed something out of place. The lawn was blue. In fact, all lawn where blue. He saw trimming the blue bushes at number two and shook his head to get the image out of his head. he hurried towards number four and quickly stepped inside as he reached the door. Vernon stepped into the hallway and glared at him, but remained silent. Harry dragged his belongings to his room on the second floor and sank down on the bed. As he glanced out the window he saw the dark clouds finally starting to pour, heavy drops of water giving new life to the dry grass below. The dry blue grass. He groaned and lay down on the bed with his eyes shut. Had he been cured by someone before he left? Or did the muggles not see the colour of the grass? It was anybodies guess at this point, and Harry fell asleep still pondering on the question.
A week went by and Harry continued to notice things around him that were practically shining with their unnaturalness. Harry was certain he had been cursed and was planning his sweet revenge as he did his morning chores. The order would be coming to pick him up in just a few short days and then he would be free of this curse.
Days later the order members did show up. Harry had been at the Dursleys for two weeks by then and was not showing any remorse as he closed his bag and stood up to leave. Without looking back he walked at side to the apparation point. He asked just before they apparated if they could remove the curse he was under when they reached headquarters. The older men looked a bit confused but apparated just after Harry.
Two days after reaching headquarters Harry was close to having a panic attack. Not even Dumbledore had found any curse on him and he was still seeing blue grass. Madame Pomfrey said he might be colourblind, and people with this condition wasn't allowed to fly. That meant that if Harry found no cure before school he wouldn't be able to play quiditch anymore. Ever. Thus the panic attack. McGonagall was almost as bad and Snape was laughing when he was alone. He, Harry, had hope though. Hermione was to arrive the day after this one, and she might find something others did not. She always did.
Hermione sat silently listening as numerous order members tried to explain what the problem was, but she was distracted by Harry. Since when does Harry have Blue Green eyes? she thought to herself absently and strained to hear what they were saying to her.
When they had explained sufficiently she motioned for Harry to come forward. Slowly he took the few steps that separated them and looked at her trying to understand what to do next.
She stood up, plucked the glasses of his nose and said
- Harry, there's some blue goo at your glasses, how long ago was it hat you cleaned them?
An embarrassing silence followed and wasn't broken until the twins collapsed on the floor, rolling in laughter.
THE END.
