Donna laid on her bed. She was old and wrinkled now, utterly alone. Her love had left her years ago, and she was going to join him soon. Any moment now. Her kids were far away, living out their lives. She couldn't help but feel that there was something...missing. She always felt that way though...that there was something she missed, a long time ago.
A great whooshing noise filled the room. A noise from her dreams. A noise from her...memories? A blue box sat in the middle of her musty, old room. The doors to the t.a.r.d.I.s opened revealing the doctor. The t.a.r.d.I.s.? The doctor? Memories upon memories came back to her. Rolling over her in waves. She did miss something all those years ago, she missed him.
Despite the burning headache gathering in her head, it felt absolutely wonderful. "Doctor?" Her voice came out as kind of a hoarse whisper. Tears forming in the corners of her eyes. He wasn't her doctor. He was a young man with a bow tie and a jacket. But she knew it was him. "
Doctor...it...it..it hurts..." he knelt down by her bed his face mirroring her own. "Its all right Donna. I'm here. I'm sorry."
"I remember doctor. I remember now." She grabbed onto his coat. He looked down towards the ground, hot fresh tears rolling down his face. "I know...I'm sorry I couldn't come sooner...but I had to see you again. One last goodbye eh? One that you'll remember."
"Thank you, doctor, for everything." Her breathing was getting slower, and any second now she would be gone, the burning in her head increasing by the minute. "No...thank you...thank you Donna Noble." She rested back onto the bed. A smile on her face. She was gone.
