You can blame my friends for this one. They got me into this game.

I don't own Smite. I do, however, possess a fascination with the deities of old, which is why I love Smite.

His claws slashing through the mortals who got in his way, his vision was red from the spray of blood. Screams of agony and terror sounded around him like a symphony, adrenaline pulsed through his veins. He was half tempted to purr with pleasure.

This was his element.

Destruction and chaos. Death and violence. Pain. Fear. Glory.

War was Anhur's thing. He relished it. And perhaps that was why he was the God of War, because he found it so immensely thrilling.

When he was on the battlefield, he wasn't just a God, but he felt like one.

His claws cutting into her flesh, he slammed her body into the earth, forcing the breath from her body. A growl rising in his throat, he raised a paw for the final blow, when he found a clawed paw pressed against his own throat, sapphire eyes boring into his as she caught her breath.

"What's the matter, Sen[1]?" She hissed, her long claws pressed hard against tender flesh on his neck, so hard that he could feel them pricking at his skin through his mane. His own claws were drawing blood as he raked them across her shoulders and closer to her throat. "Still sore from my last great victory?"

"And it shall be your last." He snarled, his temper pressing his claws deeper into her flesh and she winced.

"Ah ah ah," she taunted, a mischievous glint in her eyes, and in an instant he knew what she was going to do. But in the split second that it took him to react, her hind paws were already against his stomach, rolling her hips upwards and pushing him off of her with a reverse somersaulting motion. "You'll have to catch me if you want to kill me!"

"I will butcher you!" He bellowed after her, but she didn't seem terribly concerned.

"Not until you stop letting your pride get the best of you!" She retorted before vanishing through the throng of warriors and slipping through his fingers once again.

She was good at that.

While she was a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, she could never hope to best him in battle. He was, after all, the God of War, and she was merely the Goddess of Cats and Women. She could defeat Apep, sure, but never would she defeat him, Anhur.

But then, he'd never defeat her either.

She was far too good at slipping out of his grasp.

[1] Sen, according to several sources on Google, is the Ancient Egyptian word for brother.

I do not speak Egyptian – Arabic, Coptic, Ancient or otherwise, so I apologize if my word usage is inaccurate.
