Two New Members Part.1
"Jolie, wake up we have to keep moving!" I said urgently. "The walkers are expanding around us every minute and its getting more dangerous!" I finished. "How much gas do we have in the car?" she replied. "Just enough to get us to Savannah" I said. "Alright then, say how much ammo we have?" Jolie asked me. "Well we will eat breakfast and then I shall make about 7 more arrows for my bow and your crossbow, but we only have a few more rounds for the python and the 9mm" I replied. "I have also found a police station and about 4 diners in Savanna so lets hope they haven't been cleaned out yet!" I added. "Alright then lets move" Jolie said.
The drive to Savanna was ok except for the simple fact that that we forgot the python at the house. We didn't try to go back for it because there were too many walkers and we couldn't risk loosing ammo. "Collin how long until we get there?" Jolie asked. "Well if I stay at this speed (we were going 87mph) then we should get there by sundown." I replied. "I'm a little nervous, I mean we don't know how many zombies there are!?" Jolie exclaimed nervously. "Its ok, all you need to know is that I am here to protect you ok?" "Ok" she replied still shaking nervously.
We were about 2 miles away before we heard gun shots. I warned Jolie to keep her head down and she did but all of a sudden the windshield shattered cutting my arm and above my eye. I slammed the brakes and grabbed the 9mm. I aimed down the sights just like my dad had taught me. It turns out there was about 4 men in a red convertible all pointing guns at me and the car. One man with slicked back brown hair called off his men and walked up to me. Still holding the 9mm I looked up at him and asked him what his name was. He said that he went by the name Rick Grimes.
"Jolie its safe to come out, they aren't going to hurt us." I said to her. She walked out of the car shaking from what just happened. "This is Rick he said he can help us but he needs to know that he can trust us." I said to her. "Have you two found camp yet?" Rick asked. "We just left one but it was getting to crowded, making it as if it were a prison." I confessed to him. "Do you think you could maybe take us in with your group?" Jolie asked desperately. "We don't just allow strangers in but seeing that you two are on your own and that your kids I suppose so." Rick replied. "Thank you so much sir, but why did you shoot our car?" I asked "We weren't aiming for you we were aiming for the walker you were about to hit." He said. With that we moved to the front of the car and sure enough there was a dead walker with a bullet hole right above his right eyebrow. "So are you two ready to go?" Rick asked. "More than ever!" we replied at the same time.
