A/N: Random, short, oneshot idea that came (which is also a head cannon I made.)
Enjoy!
I DON'T OWN ROTG
It was the middle of spring, and Jack was bored. He had already annoyed Bunny, Phi, and talked with Sandy, so he decided to go and visit Tooth. He flew to here palace. Baby Tooth greeted him with a hug on his nose.
"Hey, Baby Tooth," Jack greeted, "Where's Tooth?"
Baby Tooth frowned but started flying away, beckoning for Jack to follow.
Soon enough, the pair came to a plain wooden door. Baby Tooth gestured for Jack to open the door and enter. He complied.
Inside the room was Tooth. She was starring at a wall, the biggest wall in the Tooth Palace. Placed on the wall was thousands upon millions of teeth containers. Jack watched Tooth carefully as he entered. She was kneeling on the ground, her shoulders where shaking, and sobs could be heard coming from her mouth.
Cautiously, Jack approached the fairy. "Tooth," he called once he was closer, "Are you alright?"
Tooth spun around with a start, surprised. "Oh, Jack," she said, "I didn't hear you come in."
Jack shrugged, knowing he was usually silent. "Are you OK?" he asked again.
"Yeah, I'm alright," she replied. At Jack's doubting look, she amended her statement; " As alright as I can be when I'm in this room."
Jack frowned, not liking that a member of his family could become upset over a room in their own home. "What is this place?" Jack questioned.
Tooth smiled sadly. "This is the Room of Unneeded Memories," she answered. At the confused look on Jack's face, she began to explain. "I made this room before you were born," she started, "It was one of the first places I had made in the palace. This room holds the teeth of every child that has died before they grew up. I hold them in this room, separate from all other teeth, to honor them."
Jack stared around the room. He remembered how it had been on the lowest level of the Tooth Palace, and now he noticed that the walls went higher then he could see. It wasn't just the wall in front of him that was covered in the teeth canisters, but they also covered the side walls and above the door he had entered. The room itself was dark, darker then anyplace he had ever seen in the any of the guardians home. None of them allowed a place to be dark, weary that it could give Pitch entrance into their home.
"It's amazing," Jack told Tooth, who smiled sadly back at him.
The two sat in silence, honoring the children who had passed away too young. Tooth stood up, turning to Jack. "Let's get out of here," she told him, "We have kids to protect."
Sad? A little. Bad ending? Absolutely.
I might make this longer if people like it (with the others having an honoring room), but if not, I'll leave it now it is.
Review.
