"Bye, Alex and Brianna!" called Mom. It was a Monday morning, and a particularly nice day. It's also the first day at our new school, OuranAcademy.
Just the day before, my little sister (that's what we call her, since she's been living with us for the last 6 years) were talking about the new school up in my bedroom.
"Alex!" Brianna called. "What do you think Ourans going to be like? Is it big? Does it have scary monsters? I'm SCARED!" Brianna started balling in tears on my light green comforter.
"Don't worry, Bri. Everything's going to be fine. Think of all the new privileges we will have at a private school! Switching classes, a GIGANTIC cafeteria, and no more Gabby!" Gabby was an old school peer of Brianna's, and she always bullied Bri around. That little girl had some problems.
"Yeah." said Brianna. "No more Gabby, but does the cafeterias have . . ." I cut her off and responded with an annoyed . . .
"YES! THEY HAVE GREEN JELL-O! YOU'VE ASKED ME THAT 20 TIMES!"
But of course, that only made her worries worse.
"Alex! You're scaring me! Please don't yell at me." Brianna sat on my bed, looking very small and defeated.
"All right, Brianna I'll stop. Let's go downstairs." I responded. I led her to the kitchen.
But now it was the day of school, and the toast I just finished was jumbling in my stomach. The transition from New York to Japan must be really hard on Brianna, I thought. We walked out our door and onto the bus that picked us up.
"This bus is amazing!" I said to Brianna. She was gaping at all the televisions. I sat down nest to her on the silk couch, and looked around for the seatbelt. Too late.
The bus bolted forwards with a sudden jerk and I was thrown back in my seat. No wonder the bus got here early.
"STUDENTS FROM OURANACADEMY! HERE IS YOUR STOP!" called the bus driver over the loud speaker.
Brianna, me and other students walked out the bedazzled door and into the underscoot of the building.
I grabbed Brianna's hand and walked towards the entrance. I opened the door.
"Here we go."
