A/N: I've finally finished my first Ann/Harris fic. Don't worry, I'm not shipping them, I just find this relationship way too interesting and totally fic-worthy. Their scenes are my favorites on the show as well.
I really hope you'll like it! Please let me know what you think!
"May I kiss the bride?"
The question that she'd heard a few times that day already, couldn't have sounded more repulsive to her at that moment, considering who was asking it. She closed her eyes and wished it had only been her mind playing with her, that she hadn't heard that all too familiar voice at that precious moment. It was supposed to be the happiest day of her life, like her first wedding should have been as well. And now the exact same man who had made sure she regretted the day she'd met and later married him, was probably there to ruin her happiness again.
She opened her eyes and they fell on the face she would have loved to wipe out of her mind for once and for all, because it represented all the bad things in her life she was trying hard to forget. But he wouldn't let her.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm offended I didn't get an invitation, Annie," Harris said in a calm manner, knowing perfectly well how to get under Ann's skin in a very short time.
"Did you come to tell me this?" he was the last person she wanted to see that day and since she hadn't been prepared for this, she had to try really hard to control her emotions.
"Of course not, I just wanted to see it with my own eyes."
"See what?" she asked with impatience in her voice, she didn't feel like chatting with him and tried to find a quick way out of this conversation.
"That you have the courage to finally get rid of my name."
"Then it's time for you to go," the wedding was over, she was Mrs. Bobby Ewing now and no one could take that away from her, not even him.
"You are throwing me out already?" Harris pretended to be offended, but Ann couldn't care less about his feelings.
"You are not welcomed here," she said firmly and started searching for Bobby with her eyes, because that seemed to be the only option for her to get rid of her unwanted quest.
"He can't save you from me."
She wasn't surprised that Harris apparently read her mind. She was aware that he knew her too well, like no one would ever know her.
"I don't need to be saved. You no longer have power over me," she said with slight anger in her voice, knowing that it wasn't actually true, she only wished it was.
"We both know that it's not true," Harris said her thoughts out loud which made them seem scarier.
"You really should go now," she hated him for showing up, for making her feel weak and defenseless again, especially on that special day.
She finally found Bobby with her eyes and he started walking towards them the second he realized what was going on, but Harris noticed that too.
"What about my kiss? Let's show your new husband we have no bad blood between us anymore," he made the most disgusting offer to her in a long time and she felt like slapping him or telling him to go to hell as loud as she could, but she wasn't in a position to do either.
"What about your best wishes?" Ann asked provokingly, feeling safer now that Bobby was almost there beside her.
Harris suddenly bent closer to her and since she didn't see it coming she couldn't react in time.
"You and I know that you're never going to be happy," he whispered in her ear and before Ann could recover from the shock, he gave a small kiss on her cheek and the next moment he disappeared.
