Abigail Hardscrabble was born to scare.

That did not mean she wanted to do so.

In fact, if one were to inquire from the cold and authoritarian dean, she might tell you of her days in college as a major in scaring and a minor in dance.

She might even regale you with a few tales of wild parties she attended, and the time she nearly walked in late to an exam.

One story that had never been told was that of the time she felt true joy, perhaps even love, when she was still hiding her budding liking for the fine arts and she looked into the eyes of a certain monster watching her perform in public for the very first time, nor would she say what she felt the moment she knew the one clapping the hardest was that same monster.

She had told the truth when she spoke to the two ex-students, Mike Wazoswki and James P. Sullivan. They had surprised her, and were the first to do so...

They were the first to surprise the dragon-like monstress outside of the time she surprised herself, and liked it.

Abigail Hardscrabble may have been born to scare, but things change with time and the challenges one sets for oneself.

The dean knew that very well.
